“Christmas Eve Dinner”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

My son and I had Christmas Eve Dinner at this restaurant. The staff were all fairly young and absolutely awesome... Andrew was our server.... He took time to give us information on all the surrounding sites that we could see out of our window overlooking the river. He was nice, well spoken, and very charming. The food was AWESOME... Sorry Andrew, but I still don't like the duck Foie gras.... Andy (my son) says it was delicious! We both felt that this was one of the best meals that we've had since our trip to Italy!! If you come to Philly... this is a MUST STOP!! Andrew I would still like my birthday dessert!!! YUMMY!!

“Unique Dinner Location”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

We were in Philly for the Army/navy game and had dinner on Thursday night 12/12/13. The restaurant is very unique with its permanently docked schooner setting. The ship is beautiful at night all lit up and with wonderful river views from your table. The reservations were for 4 adults and 3 children and were honored quickly. The menu was very good offering many variations of typical dishes. For an appetizer we had a house-cured salumi platter for the table and a fresh mozzarella plate which were excellent followed by roasted beet and wedge salads ! For our main courses we had filet mignon, rib eye, and the asian style chilean sea bass. All cooked to perfection. The children had chicken tenders that were also good. The waiter was excellent, present when he needed to be and not overwhelming and always with a smile especially for the children. The wine list was very good with a varied world selection. They had accomodated a special birthday request very nicely with a chocolate inscribed platter with chocolates and card! It was a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this for a special night out!

“Marooned at Moshulu”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

Plus: very good food, service, ambience. Minus: Entrance to ship situated so that taxi could get only within about 100 meters or so. Driving sleet and cold made getting in uncomfortable. Getting out impossible: after more than an hour of waiting for the cab called by Moshulu staff, left on foot in same foul weather. Feel restaurant could have either made some standing arrangement with car service or tried harder to get us out of there.

“Great place for a Wedding Dinner”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

My daughter and her husband got married in a small ceremony with just the parents present. We hosted the party of 10 at Moshulu and were very very pleased. We had drinks by the bar while we were awaiting our table where they served the newlyweds with a complimentary champagne toast. The restaurant is an old tall ship that was converted to a fine dining experience while keeping the original gorgeous staircase and other architectural aspects. Our meals were delicious. They came out hot and at the same time. The wait staff was attentive and knew their business. They also served a complimentary chocolate dessert to the husband and wife. We will definitely visit again! The price was reasonable for a 5 star restaurant.

“great lunches”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Great lunch menu with nice views of the river. The staff and servers are excellent. The food options are very good. The lobster bisque soup is the very best. In the summer, you can go up to the outside deck and put your feet up and enjoy the view with a delicious cocktail..worth the trip.
