My family and I had dinner here to celebrate an anniversary. We glanced at the menu online beforehand so we knew it would be somewhat expensive but we didn't realize just how much. The food was good, but RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. $50 for a steak...$10 just for the side dishes...$15 a bottle for a Miller Lite...
My father ordered a beer. It was completely flat and had no taste and he only had maybe two sips. He sent it back thinking he wouldn't be charged for a drink that wasn't good but he was charged! It's $15 a bottle! Also, our waiter told us about some specials such as the small platter of the seafood sampler, with the crab meat, lobster, etc. He did not mention the price but did say it was an appetizer for two. And that there was also a large for four people. So we got the small thinking maybe 20-25 bucks. If we would have known it was going to cost $69, we definitely would not have ordered it. It wasn't an entrée...just an appetizer!
It's a neat idea...the converted boat and all. But the prices are completely outrageous for the amount of food and the quality of food. I could literally have gotten a steak prepared just as well at Outback for $9.99. Also, maybe they shouldn't let an entire wedding reception walk through the main dining area, carrying on and asking random people to stop eating and take their picture.
I have tried to contact Moshulu through several emails regarding my father being charged for his beer and for the pricing of the appetizer that we were not told about. But no response. I recommend you go someplace else in the city...anywhere else. If you do go, ALWAYS ask pricing and if you want drinks - just wait until after dinner and go to a local Philly bar.
