“Always Reliable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

Even during Restaurant Week five of us found Varalli's to be near the top of their game. The place was packed yet the service was attentive, professional, and friendly. The crew was doing their best to accommodate everyone so, at times appeared a bit frazzled.Because of our time constraints we opted for the regular menu and were not disappointed. The veal piccatta was sublime, tender and flavorful with a light sauce.Three of the four seafood entrees were delightful and cooked to each diner's preference and were spot on delicious. The sea bass however was disappointingly overcooked and without much flavor in spite of the tangy sauce. Our server was a gem, attending to our requests while insuring that we were on schedule for our event

“Great NYE dining experience!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

We joined another couple for a great meal at this nice Italian eatery on Broad Street. After being greeted warmly upon entering the restaurant, we had a nice drink at the bar while awaiting our friends. Upon being seated, the waitress brought us some tasty warm bread w/olive oil & some very good pesto sauce. All of our meals were excellent as the pace of the meal was very relaxing (not easy to find on New Years Eve!) as we downed several bottles of wine & shared some excellent desserts.

I would highly recommend this Italian restaurant as it is truly a gem & located close to the nice offerings on Broad Street (e.g. Kimmel Center)!

“Friendly waiter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

We were here for a quick bite as we had to make sure to get to Kimmel Center in time for the show. We were seated at the bar. The waiter was very friendly and made sure we received our orders in time. The food was okay but we didn't have a full dinner experience so I don't have much to go on. Place is right in the center and fairly close to city hall.

“A gem on Broad St.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

Found this during a stay at Doubletree. Bad weather kept us close and we are glad. Mushroom soup, salads, flatbread, lamb shank, rib eye steak excellent. Great service, great bar atmosphere and ambience is outstanding. Will return every trip to Phila.

“Food is very good but pricey for a family”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013

We ate here because it was raining and we did not want to go too far from our hotel. Had hoped for a very simple meal and got much more.... I had salmon, wife had a flat-bread pizza and they were kind enough to throw some things together for a fettuccine alfredo. The food was good, the desserts especially bread pudding were some of the best I have had in recent years. Only down-side was the price but consistent for "big-city".
