“The best restaurant in Philadelphia”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

This is the best restaurant in Philadelphia. It's in a small, romantic townhouse on Spruce. It's now solely a tasting menu. There is an extensive wine list, but I recommend the wine pairings; it's the only way to match wines perfectly to each dish. I went with the premium pairings, and found them to be extraordinary. With so many dishes, and so many wines, over the course of so many hours, it's difficult to keep anything straight. The mammoth bone made me think of il Cibreo in Florence and made me smile. The pastas, in particular the almond truffle tortellini and the chestnut gnocchi, were high points. Desserts were wonderful, of course. This was one of the most expensive dinners I've ever had, and one of the best values I have ever had as well.

“Save up because you want to be here”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Vetri was one of the top two dinners we have ever had (Restaurant Gary Danko in SF was the other). Food, service, ambiance...could not have been better. Some of the dishes were transcendent (Almond Tortellini!!!). Not cheap by a long shot, hard to get a reservation, but try!!! It is a tasting menu so you never know what you're getting, but you can also request to have a certain dish included.

“Great experience!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

We had a delicious dining experience! That's what it is, an experience! Each course was paired with the perfect wine. There was not one course we did not enjoy! The courses are so creative and unique! The spinach gnocchi was like dessert it was so good!!

All the servers were fantastic but our main server Caitlin was so pleasant and knowledgeable! She made the experience that much better!

While the cost is intense, this experience is a great way to celebrate something special!

We came to philadelphia from new york especially for this meal. It did not disappoint. The food was incredible and the wine pairings made it even more perfect. The service could not have been better.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Real simple....if you want an excellent meal, and overall very good dining experience, this is a must try! My wife and I had wanted to try this restaurant for some time. Needed to make reservations ~ 2-3 months in advance. We had a reservation for four people, requesting a table near the windows, overlooking the street. Only one glitch...when we arrived the table we requested was not available, even though my wife made the request 2x, upon her initial reservation and a follow-up call. (The host said it was not noted on the reservation....Oh, Ok!)
Should the restaurant have rectified it? Absolutely! Especially for the amount of $$ we spent!

Regardless, the ambience, food, and service was excellent. We will return.
