This is the best restaurant in Philadelphia. It's in a small, romantic townhouse on Spruce. It's now solely a tasting menu. There is an extensive wine list, but I recommend the wine pairings; it's the only way to match wines perfectly to each dish. I went with the premium pairings, and found them to be extraordinary. With so many dishes, and so many wines, over the course of so many hours, it's difficult to keep anything straight. The mammoth bone made me think of il Cibreo in Florence and made me smile. The pastas, in particular the almond truffle tortellini and the chestnut gnocchi, were high points. Desserts were wonderful, of course. This was one of the most expensive dinners I've ever had, and one of the best values I have ever had as well.
