Such a warm inviting place with a knowledgable staff that makes you feel at home! The Apps are the best bar none ESP. If you let staff serve you family style...fresh gnocci assortment then Bronzino!! And their Tiramisu is absolute best of Philly! Come here and leave wanting to come back real soon!

“Happened to try this restaurant”
Reviewed May 2, 2010

We go to Philly quite often. Following two movies at the Ritz, we started walking toward South Street . . . a location we usually avoid. We crossed and continued to Bainbridge and headed east. While looking for somewhere to eat, preferably BYOB, a merchant noticed us looking in the window at Gnocchi. He suggested we try it. He also gave a number of other nearby recommendations nearby but off South St.
We decided to give it a try. It took a few minutes to go the wine/spirits shop to get some wine and return. He saw us walk in.
We found the food quite good, service attentive, courteous and good, prices moderate. My wife had a pasta special which she thought was good;not great. i had the evening fish de jour. It was very good. appetizers were good.
This is not a "wow" place. it was a very convenient, moderately priced Italian restaurant with good food. Fit our need for the end of a busy day. We would happily return.
Excluding tip, the meal was $60 for two.

“Angelic...”

Have nothing but the best at this quaint little remote part if Italy. Both staff and food are impeccable and true to Italian roots, regardless of their ethnic heritage. They stay true to Italy, per the Captain's orders. Gnocci is just as accomidating for one weary traveler as it is for the 60-70 they can squeeze into his slice of paradise. Always try the specials, but start with Gnocci. Light and airy even on a 100 degree afternoon. Cash only and BYO, there are both ATM's and several liquor outposts within a ball's reach. Must try for yourself. Bring family! Should be lines out the door..it's that good. Thanks, Gnocci.

“A pleasant introduction to Philly”
Reviewed January 5, 2009

We spent two nights in Philadelphia (first timers) and tried Gnocci our first night in the City on a friend's recommendation - we weren't disappointed. The service was friendly (Philly is a friendly city, nice people) and warm; the restaurant was small & intimate (there was just one other couple besides us when we arrived, three more tables' full when we left); and the food satisfying & reasonably priced. We wished we could take Gnocci home with us. We chose the house salad & mussels in white sauce to start; the whole fish and seafood linguine as main entrees. And how pleasant to be able to bring our own bottle of red wine to the table. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience & would return again. Thank you, Gnocci, for a warm welcome.

“Nice Place, Average Gnocchi”
Reviewed December 29, 2008

Went to gnocchi to celebrate the holidays with a large group of friends (12). Service was decent as the table was ready upon our arrival and the wait staff was fairly attentive with water and wine opening. Restaurant was near capacity but not as crowded or cramped as many other BYOB’s in Philly.

We opted for the group dining deal where everyone gets appetizers to share, a sampling of gnocchi, an entrée, and dessert. Not a bad deal for $35 per person but it probably would have worked out cheaper to just buy an entrée and appetizer or salad to share a la carte. As reported by others, the house specialty (gnocchi) itself is pretty bland- nothing to write home about. All in all, a decent experience but only so-so food.
