Second visit to Morimoto, and even better the second time. Drinks are great, (KARAI) is a favorite, the Omakase was a delicious experience and the service staff are on top of everything. It's nice they allow only one in the party to order the Omakase and they did a good job of spacing out my partners meal along with it.

Top notch experience!

Great restaurant, great ambiance. The food is superb. If in Philadelphia, you should really try to catch dinner at this wonderful restaurant. If you are disappointed, you should stay at home because you probably won't find a better Japanese restaurant on the East Coast.

After a long absence four of us decided to revisit Morimoto's original outpost in Philly. While we normally would order Omikase, it was relatively late, and we just wanted something quicker and less drawn out. The sashimi, tempura and surf&turf items fit nicely. All were exquisitely prepared and absolutely delicious. Nice to be back.

For those who want to sit around with friends, try having dessert and after dinner drinks in the small lounge upstairs. We were the only ones there at 10 pm on a Friday.

It's hard to resist trying this Iron Chef bastion. The interior is unique and must have been quiet the statement of futuristic design when the restaurant opened years ago. The food is delicious but nothing about the menu really comes of original or unique. All the staples of Japanese and Asian Fusion cuisines are found on the menu, but some items are beyond passé. The sushi is of high quality but fully lacking in creativity. If you've not eaten here before, give it a try. I doubt it's worth a repeat visit. But then again, I am spoiled; NYC is full of amazing Japanese and fusion restaurants.

Service was very good. We were sent upstairs where it was a bit crowded but nonetheless the bartender was very polite and readied our drinks.
Downstairs was a super contemporary Asian atmosphere which paired well with the food.
All of our dishes played well off each other and all had balanced each other evenly. Taste wasn't too overpowering
I had the duck which was prepared 3 different ways. The confrit wasn't too dense, had great flavor and the portion was substantial.
The brownie for desert was a bit dry but the ice cream was perfect
We had a few drinks and the bill did get steep( $275 including tip) for just 2 people but we did get a boatload of food.
Great restaurant in Philly!
