“Absolutely Amazing”

We went for a nice Saturday night family dinner and it was perfect! There were so many unique and delicious, homemade, Italian dishes to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed the environment and the people were incredibly polite and nice!

“Like being in an Italian family house for dinner”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

A friend was in Philly from Texas and wanted to try local Italian food. Read reviews here and decided to try this place.
First, you better have reservations, second you'll be lucky to get a close parking space, third you better be experianced in narrow street tight space parallel parking, forth you must not object to eating close to others or having your conversation drowned out. Imagine Thanksgiving dinner (35 people) at an Italian family's house in a city row home
One inside you find that it's very small, a converted city row home, about 12 feet wide. We had 7:15 reservations and were promtly seated at 7:15 while walk-ins that got there prior to us waited.
Our guest had the Caesar Salad $8.50 which he remarked was really good, had I ate that much salad, 6" plate piled 6" high, I would not have been able to eat anything else.
Wife had the Lobster Ravioli (blush sauce) $18 (about 10 raviolli) which she remarked were "excellent". Guest and I both had the Braciola (veal rolled with prosciutto topped with smoked mozzarella braised with tomato) $20 which we both enjoyed. The guest enjoyed his Key Lime pie while wife & I had the canollis. While we enjoyed the plain we LOVED the chocolate.
Now, while no one in our group is Italian and may not be the best judge of "authentic" Italian food I felt very reassured of the quality since the place was packed with Italians and more waiting to get in.

“South Philly is where it's at.”

Small, quaint little Italian restaurant off of Broad St. on Porter. Great specials. BYOB, but they helped us with that by sending one of their staff to the store for a bottle of good wine. Everything was made in house with an emphasis on authentic.

A block off Broad street in a residential community, the food was awesome in this homey restaurant with about 10 tables you get to after walking past the open kitchen. Walking in, you could see these guys could cook and they were friendly when we asked for ideas. Very friendly service and reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back.

“It's becoming a family tradition...”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

This is the best Italian food that I've found.

You walk in through the kitchen and get hit with wonderful garlic/other smells, and are served treat after treat. Portions are generous. No one has ever left hungry!

My family has been coming here for several years now. We've never had a bad meal. Yes, it's tight seating, and yes, you almost always should get a reservation, but we've never regretted going, and always compare other Italian restaurants unfavorably to this one.
