Eating here is like eating at your neighbors South Philly style. This restaurant is a typical row home small cramped and wonderful. The food makes this place. As long as your ok having a conversation with the 3 adjacent tables then your fine.

We visited L'Angolo at the suggestion of friends whose tase we value and were therefore disappointed when our meal didn't live up to expectations. Our appetizers were fine; asparagus wrapped woth shrimp and grilled calamari. The latter was very good, with a delicious olive oil dip that was very special. We both had pasta dishes; pappardella with a light sauce of raisins and onions. The onions weren't mentuioned in the description of the dish. The other dish was orichietti with a duck ragout. It was overly salty. Both pastas were undercooked.

The prices were very reasonable, the ambience fine and not overly loud and the wait staff was courteous and efficient. All in all, there are too many good Italian restaurants in Philadelphia to warrant another visit here.

We just dined at L'Angolo and had a great dining experience! We were fortunate enough to find off street parking right across from the restaurant. Not knowing what to expect, you actually walk through the kitchen area to the quaint dining area. Having reservations we were seated immediately. Servers were very attentive, and our wine was openend immediately as he stated the specials, I chose the Caprese salad, (awesome) and my husband had the Calamari, which he said was the best he has had. I ordered the special, Veal chop with mushrooms and marsala reduction.. melted in my mouth. My husband had the seafood pasta with mussels, calamari, oysters in a spicy red sauce. He devoured it! Would definitely eat there again and only went there based on Tripadvisor reviews! Another great find in South Philly!!

We've been to Scannicchio's many times and had never even noticed this place which is almost right across the street. Only tried here based on Tripadvisor reviews. Exceptional food and great service. Small, BYOB and reasonably priced with a creative menu and truly outstanding pasta. My wife pasta - the red sauce was perfect - light with just a slight amount of spice. I has stripped bass whcih was outstanding with an asparagus appetizer wrapped in prosciutto - done perfectly.
