I'm from New England and lived for a time in Boothbay Harbor which is where some of Luke's lobsters are from, so I like to think I know a good lobster roll. I was a little apprehensive because I have found it difficult to find a good roll outside New England. A lot of places put this concoction called "lobster salad" on a bun and try and pass it off as the real deal. Luke's thankfully, is not one of these places. This is straight up chunks of claw and tail meat on a lightly buttered New England style roll with a sprinkling of special spices. With each bite, i felt more and more like I was home by the ocean at some of my favorite spots in Maine. Thank you Luke's for bringing an authentic roll to Philly! I will be back!

Hole in the wall basement location.....however get there and try this lobster roll. $15 for just lobster and a roll. You can add a drink and chips for two bucks more but we were there for the lobster and not disappointed. Best idea is to get the sandwiches to go and sit in nearby Rittenhouse Sq.

I'm obsessed with Luke's Lobsters. First time I tried them was in Bethesda MD so I was stoked to see they have one in Philly.
It is exactly what a lobster roll should be Lobster & the roll that's it! No mayo or celery & onions.
Huge pieces of lobster.
Yes it's a little pricey, its not something u should get every week. But every bit worth the $15.
The place is small and gets packed quickly around lunch time so get there early!

Ate at Luke's was jars to find at first like basement place but after that everything was great. Inside the place was small but not crowded even for a Friday at 0530 pm. My son and I both got the lobster roll which is basically giant lumps of lobster meat on a slice of bread, awesome. The serving size is a little small but this is lobster we are talking about, also came with a bag of chips and a drink for 16 bucks. All in all a great meal you just might be a little hungry a short time after but next time I think I will get the sampler and that should cure that
