“Perfect for us!”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

We travelled from New Jersey to Philadelphia for 2 days and 1 night to sightsee and hang out.

This hotel is right across the street from Reading Terminal Market, so we headed to the market shortly after checking in! Wow, love that place.

The one HUGE plus about this hotel is that it is centrally located, so we were able to park the car and walk everywhere. We walked all the way to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is about 2 miles away, and a wonderful stroll past quite a few landmarks. We also walked all the way in the other direction to the Liberty Bell, Penn's Landing, the Christ Church, and other attractions. We never moved our car! But parking is not cheap, so be prepared to pay. I think our parking was $65 or so for the entire time, but well worth it. We even took our luggage to the car after check-out and went sightseeing, so I'm sure that there were some additional charges for that extra time in the parking garage - but once again, well worth it!

There was also a nice FREE breakfast area in the lobby, but we didn't not eat there because we got addicted to the Amish bakery in Reading Market Terminal, so we went and bought breakfast foods there.

We were quite pleased, enjoyed our stay there, and would definitely return if visiting Philly - nice employees at lobby desk, and a very clean hotel that's conveniently located in a central location. The kitchenette in the room was also a plus...

My husband and I stayed here 7/19/14. We had a terrific time. Our room overlooked Reading Terminal Market. It was in a quiet floor and very clean. Hotel staff were very professional and accommodating. We came to Philly to go to the Barnes Foundation - it was a nice day so we strolled to and from The museum. The breakfast was crowded - we had juice and proceeded to Reading Terminal and had many delicious delights. This hotel also has an outdoor space for guest to enjoy. What is great about this hotel: Price, large room and kitchen, cleanliness, comfortable bed, good security and location, location, location!!!

We booked this hotel primarily for an affordable 3 star or better stay. Pleasantly surprised is an understatement! Location, across the street from the train station and Reading Terminal Market, don't think there is a more convenient place in Philadelphia. The room was fresh, quiet and roomy on an upper floor as requested with stocked kitchen. Slept Great! The staff was pleasant and always accommodating, Really! Needed to borrow scissors for some wardrobe repairs, no problem. And we arrived several hours early, ask if we could just leave our luggage till check-in, they gave us the room WAY early! The facility is bright and airy with attractive decor. Large buffet breakfast included with always free coffee in the lobby. A mini market is also located in the lobby. The doorman was available each day and always helpful. We were in and out at varying hours and felt safe and secure.
There are a few things to keep in mind here, but nothing for us to take away for an excellent rating, just fyi. :)
Breakfast has many selections and is good, but as with anything free and popular, go early for the best choices and less crowds. We did and it was great.
We did not need parking, so can't commit on that.
The free coffee offer in the lobby is nice, but it seemed weak each time I tried it. Now the free coffee in the room with the Keurig was awesome every time!!
Our room did not have a view to speak of, but we did not ask for a view and honestly the room was so great otherwise, not an issue.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms very quiet. :)

Located right across from the convention center. The Tour Bus is located within a block. The Reading Terminal Market is right across the street. The hotel is very clean and updated. The rooms have full size kitchens. Free wi-fi and free breakfast. Nice pool (small) open until 10pm and fitness room open 24 hours.

Our family stayed here two nights. We were easily able to walk to various locations in Center City and the Historic District. Also extremely convenient to subway, trolley and bus lines. We also stopped by the Reading Terminal Market in the morning to get some very large, fresh pieces of fruit--a treat!

The hotel itself isn't set up so much for families--more for hip, technologically savvy singles or couples. The only available room for the 5 of us was a studio suite, which was adequate (2 queens and a comfy sofabed) but there wasn't a ton of extra room. On the plus side, the vending machines on every floor sold soda pop for a very reasonable price!!

The breakfast selection was adequate but the seating areas themselves were often very crowded--there is a lot of unused open space...more thought should be put into setting up more seating. Even some of the current seating options do not work for children, as they are too high up.

The exercise area is beautiful and overlooks the (very small) swim area. Dipped my feet into the pool, which was enjoyable, but the very small size of the pool discouraged my kids from wanting to even go in at all.

The Wifi worked well but the connections on the desktop computers were spotty. This has been my experience with all of the computers on the Hilton networks in other locations, all of which use the same system.

The staff made a point of warning me about when we would need our keys to enter the building (after 8 pm). During the day, the area outside the hotel is fine but I would not want to linger outside with younger kids or if traveling alone (and female)...a bit on the creepy side.

But overall, an excellent value--not easy to find a sleek hotel in Center City that can fit 5 into one room, free internet, breakfast, along with a great location...that won't break the bank.

Room Tip: Park your car at the PPA lot (1540 Vine, entrance on 16th south of Vine). It costs only $18 a day...

Big bang for the buck. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean. Glad you have queen beds and not doubles. Breakfast was plentiful and healthy. Free WiFi that actually worked was a nice bonus. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking in adjacent lot was easy although pricey but you are in a downtown location which is to be expected. Only complaint is that the convention of people were allowed to loiter in front of the hotel. There were literally 100's of them they were loud and completely trashed the streets in front of the hotel. Broken liquor bottles, soda and beer cans and food trash was thrown everywhere.
