“Tasty and extensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We were a party of 6 during Restaurant Week and it was a good meal. Everyone enjoyed their selections from the EXTENSIVE Restaurant Week menu and everyone especially enjoyed their cocktails with different flavors consisting of lychee, basil, passion fruit, etc. The bar service was done by our food waiter so there was a delay at times - not sure why there was no bartender as our waiter seemed to get a bit stressed but he did fine. We had a choice of soup/salad, appetizer, main entree and dessert. The food was very good and came out quickly enough for a large party. Some items could have been hotter but that may have occurred due to the fact that they tried to serve us all at one time... The sake vinaigrette on my salad was absolutely delicious - I could have licked the plate. The Indian pancake was just so-so. The shrimp in mango sauce was WONDERFUL - I ate every bit of it. Others raved over their ahi tuna dumplings, beef satay and lamb dish. We were a bit puzzled by the italian desserts that were offered - while they were tasty, they were just frozen desserts... Where's the red bean or green tea ice cream? The desserts just didn't fit. We ate what we wanted and then went around the corner to Barbuzzo and got Salted Caramel Budino's to go.... :-)

“Asian fusion for the holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

On Christmas Eve, my wife and I went to Spice 28 on Chestnut Street because it was close to our hotel. At first we thought it was closed; the exterior wasn’t very inviting, but once we stepped inside it was a whole different story. This was no normal Thai restaurant but what they call Asian Fusion. The modern sleek design of the interior and the friendliness of the hostess made for a fine start to our dining experience.

It was our waiter’s first day on the job, so he had another waiter shadowing him, which meant we always had service. Appetizers were delicious (pot stickers and ahi tuna). For dinner I had the Tangerine Duck which was tangy and tasty. My wife had the tuna avocado salad.

The desserts were out of this world. I had the exotic bomba (mango, passion fruit and raspberry sherbet covered in white chocolate). My wife had the Coppa Strawberry and Caramel (vanilla ice cream with strawberries and caramel). They didn’t serve coffee but that was okay.

A very good dining experience for the holiday.

“If you like Asian Fusion”

I can't say enough good things about this Asian Fusion spot. The lettuce wraps are addictive, the staff is attentive and friendly, the prices are reasonable. Everyone we've introduced to this place loves it!

“Spice 28 was good time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

Service was good. Staff were attentive without hovering. Food was good, though when the menu indicates a spicy dish - especially on the Szechuan section - believe it and order something with a milk sauce (like one of the curries) to go along with it and help quench the fire. Ambience was great - intimate. The modern feel of the decor worked well. We ended up staying longer than expected and on a weekday night too. Would definitely go again.

“Great Dinner place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

This is a must do if you like Asian food. The space is decorated in a fun and interesting way. The energy is great. Get a reservation because there are lines out the door. The portions are large. The prices are very reasonable. Best of all the food is fabulous!
