“Great place to celebrate”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We celebrated a family birthday in this small but tastefully decorated restaurant in one of South Philadelphia's neighborhoods. The wait staff was really friendly and attentive. The BYOB is a nice feature, allowing us to bring our favorite beers and vintages. The menu offered a creative mix of options that included a sweet potato soup, Belgian snails in a delicious creamy sauce, rainbow trout, short ribs, and tasty fruit or an almond flavored "pot of cream" for dessert. Presentation was pretty to look at and even more delicious to eat. We'll be back--and we'll tell our friends. One of the nicest dining experiences we've had in a long time.

“So Impressed!”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

I heard some good things about this place, but mostly in passing, as it doesn't seem to be on the "radar," at least not mine. We heard about from our waitress at Vernick. I was blown away. Sublime is the word that comes to mind! A small, cute, but elegant place with very good service, but the food! We went early and had the place to ourselves for a while on a summer's Friday evening. Do yourself a favor and enjoy!!

“Wonderful dinner”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

We dined here on a Saturday evening. Despite comments I had read, we did not find the restaurant noisy nor without elbow room. We were greeted very warmly upon arrival and our waiter was attentive, friendly and happy to explain items on the menu and encouraged questions. Among the four of us, we shared 3 different appetizers. We had the heirloom tomato salad with puffed quinoa (I definitely need to learn to make puffed quinoa), roasted mushroom and a special escargot with black truffles and scrambled eggs on top. While not large, the appetizers were enough to share and all were delicious. We each ordered a different entree and again shared bites with each other. All were delicious and beautifully presented but I think my red drum was my favorite. Our waiter was attentive in refilling our wine glasses and it's nice they keep the white wine chilled in a large communal ice bucket. We shared 2 desserts, the pot de creme being the favorite. Overall, a wonderful dinner and we will plan on returning.
