Lemon Hill is a few blocks from the Eastern State Penitentiary and the Art Museum. Cocktails were innovative and delicious. "Riddles in the Dark," a variation on the Manhattan, was excellent!

The food was just as good. The House Pickles and the Crispy Chicken Livers were my favorite appetizers - the pickled celery was the single best thing I've had at a restaurant in quite a while.

For the large plate, you must try the braised shortribs with corn pudding - again one of the best meals I've had in quite a while!

While in Philadelphia and on a tip from a friend visited Lemon Hill. Food, service, and atmosphere exceeded expectations. Tasted short ribs, corn pudding, burger; all were great. Servers and management go out of their way to make you feel welcomed.

On a friend's recommendation and after walking the Art Museum area we stopped in to Lemon Hill. We're greeted warmly, seated right away and the service was spot on all night. Great beer selections and good wines. Menu a bit limited however thought the chicken sandwich was very tasty. We also tried the short ribs (after sending back the chili- beans were too hard) which were fantastic! Fall off the bone tender and flavorful.
Will try again soon as the bar atmosphere is great and the staff A plus.

I've been here twice - both around brunch/lunch time on the weekend prior to heading to nearby Philadelphia Museum of Art. Great local spot, decor is cool. Food is good - really good. But the service is so slow. What should have been an hour or so, dragged on to nearly 2 hours - both times. Neither time was the restaurant at capacity. Staff was aloof. Had to flag folks down. So, if you're not in a hurry and don't want much attention, but do want a cool hipster spot with good food, a decent beer on tap list and near the museum - then Lemon Hill is your spot. I will likely try again - maybe for dinner - and see if service picks up. Definitely worth a try as the food is fresh and good.

Table of 4 with a 5pm reservation, filled quickly with a waiting line to get a table when we left at 7. 3 Great apps-Latkes, Trout Croquette and Mussels followed by 2 orders of fish stew. Delicious, grilled octopus, shrimp and mussels again (big and fresh-from Maine.) Very knowledgeable and efficient waiter and staff.
