Starting out with one of the best cocktails ever, Blue Heat, Vernick did not disappoint at all. From the great bartender, Latifa, to all of the servers, service was great. And to top it all off the food was fresh and interesting and delicious. I am going there for dinner again this week and I cannot wait.

Unlike some #1 rankings in other cities, Vernick Food & Drink actually deserves its placement. Fortunately, we planned ahead for our one night out for dinner in Philadelphia and made reservations. From the front, the restaurant appears quite small until one realizes there is seating in back, as well as upstairs. Prior to being seated, I used the restroom in back and took a peak upstairs. Having spotted an empty two-top upstairs and on the outside railing, I was able to request that table and was happy I did so. Although Vernick is a wonderful eatery, it apparently is always packed and very noisy. The location of our table reduced the crowd decibels significantly. Amber, our waitperson, was cheerful, most helpful, attentive and efficient. After several glasses of Peillot, we enjoyed Grilled Black Sea Bass, their lamb special and two orders of fresh greens. For dessert, we tried their Apple Crisp and Pumpkin Tiramisu. In a word, our food was scrumptious! In a city the size of Philadelphia, there should be more than just a few great dining establishments. Vernick is definitely one of them and deserves it's popularity and reputation.

Service - Very friendly and helpful staff and waitress.
Food - Overall was good, and would go again, but just didn't find it as impressive as some other places I had been in Philly.
Atmosphere - Nice decor, great for small or large groups.
Overall - Good experience, and would recommend to anyone.
