Rooms and bathrooms were small with nightmarish wallpaper everywhere. Parking fees were outrageous, unaccomodating for our wedding party. Few amenities. Location in the historical district and the view from our 9th floor room was excellent. The adjoining restaurant The Red Owl Tavern was also very good and dconvenient. The valet service was friendly and very efficient.

Thank you for staying with us. We're certainly disappointed that the wallpaper was such a big downer for you. We love the eclectic, vibrant design, but understand that we might be biased. We have made sure that our valet parking rates are consistent with the city around us, but will happily refer our guests to self-park options in the neighboring area that are not affiliated with the hotel. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge the great door and restaurant teams. Those guys work very hard to deliver the best experience possible to all of our guests.

On the advise of friends we stayed at the Monaco Philadelphia, our first stay in a Kimpton hotel. As the main purpose of our stay was to visit he historical heart of Philadelphia, the location of the hotel was perfect: literally across the street from Independence Hall and Liberty Bell. The hotel is situated in a beautiful historical building and is decorated in an interesting eclectic style. The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean, the restaurant very good quality. The staff was ok, but lacked that extra effort that would have given our stay that extra dimension and would have earned them a 5-star rating.

Room Tip: Try tôget a room with sight of Independence Hall

The location and style of this hotel are unique in the best way possible. Unfortunately, if you perceived a lack of effort on our end, then the first two things can only carry us so far. I am sorry we did not do enough to make you feel the love. We are significantly better than that. No doubt, if you have a chance to return you will receive our best effort.

Had a wonderful stay at the Monaco. This hotel is in a perfect location, just across the street from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Fantastic restaurants in the neighborhood and lots to do in the area. The hotel itself has a lot of character and flair, at the same time maintaining a high level of cleanliness and comfort. Loved the wine hour every early evening in the lobby. Friendly staff all around. Great restaurant attached. Would highly recommend to anybody visiting Philly.

Thank you for swinging by the Monaco. Old City is the best neighborhood in Philadelphia for planning a vacation around. No other part of the city can boast the easy access, breadth of historical sites, and great restaurants available.

Safe travels -

I've stayed here twice and I think this stay was better than the one before. Most hotels in philly are near the train station or market. This one can seem a little off the beaten path - but it's just so nice you won't care. Located across the street from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell you get lots of historic sight seeing right our your door. You can take a lovely stroll along Walnut st where there are some great cafes and restaurants.

The rooms are big and comfy, super clean and everyone who works here is really authentically nice. I even got a very nice personal note from housekeeping. Makes you want to stay here - always.

Room Tip: Some rooms on the higher floors have views of Independence Hall or the Liberty Bell.

Glad to hear we have improved ourselves. Hopefully next time we'll hit the 5-star level! We like to think those other hotels are on the beaten path...however, for driving purposes, there is probably no hotel in the city with better combined access to 676 and 95 (which means the airport). I love to hear about the note from your housekeeper. The ladies and gentlemen in that department care about our guests so much, they feel as if you are in their home and want to treat you as such.

Best -
