“Hidden gem in Fishtown area of Philadelphia”
Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

This is a lovely restaurant. It has a warm atmosphere. The food is delicious all around. It was the best beef bourguignon & creme brûlée- everything we had was really wonderful.

“Extraordinary find - great meal”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

I heard about this restaurant from a family member, who had received a recommendation from a food seller downtown. We made a reservation and had an absolutely delicious dinner at the restaurant. The selection of dishes was very good, with many different unusual plates to choose from - they offer small plates and large plates. We tried four different small plates, and two large plates (Sea Bream and scallops). The sauces and flavors were just wonderful. This is BYOB, so cost was kept within reason - about $50-60 per person with tax and tip included. The location is out of the way - 2200 block of Frankford in Northern Liberties - but really worth the trip. I am definitely going to be bringing friends to this restaurant in the future - I hope they can maintain the high culinary standards. Atmosphere was nice but not overdone - and quite easy to talk in conversational tone (altho it was not very crowded when we came, so not sure how noisy it might be with a full or nearly full house). Very impressive and worth a detour away from downtown.

“"Do Herons Exsist in Fishtown"”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Took a wild pick on "open Table" which turned out to be quite nice. Knowing Philly neighborhoods somewhat, but thinking this was on the edge of "fishtown" so it would be a safe try. My better half had quail which she never had, said it was excellent. I had a lamb stake, which i never had before, cooked perfectly to order. (Medium) We both had desserts, which is rare, but were very enjoyable. Choices were a rich "opera cake" (big hit), and an duck egg creme brulee. Creamier than i've ever tasted, delicious. Service was VG and friendly. Prices were reasonable especially dessert. Only complaint was appetizer, potato soup, which seemed a bit thin. My usual pet peeve is soup that is thick & pasty. All in all I would go back to this quiet byob.

Fantastic meal at this charming Fishtown BYOB! Warm, welcoming and professional staff. Intimate, romantic ambience that features rotating local art. Wonderfully prepared french inspired dishes utilizing fresh local ingredients. Can't wait to return!
