Owner description: The best walking and biking route in the city is along the Schuylkill River. The cluster of 15 rowing clubs host a variety of rowing and running events each year.

Take a walk along Kelly Drive to really appreciate the history and unique sights along Boathouse Row. If you are lucky enough to visit during a regatta or during warm weather you will see the rowers out doing their majestic sprints. It can get very busy and crowded so be prepared. Try to get a view from across the river on Marthin Luther King drive if you want photos.

Old Philly favorite. Must be seen from across river at night. What's not to love. Who doesn't glance over when driving at night on the Schuylkill Expressway. Unique to Philly.

Nice place along the river, historic and interesting. Have seen it form the other side of the river for years, but this was the fist time we walked to them

Boathouse Row is located right behind the Art Museum and Water Works. There's parking on the street leading and in a small lot where you can park there for 2 hrs or so. It's along the Schuykill running trail, so be warned that between April and October, it gets pretty crowded in the area due to runners, the rowers and events surrounding Boathouse Row. Architecturally, a place to come and see. Make sure to come at night to see everything lit up.

I hate to hate on a Philadelphia landmark, but . . .

The boathouses are really pretty to look at from the road or across the river. I'm assuming they look really nice on the river, too. But if you have limited time in the city, this attraction isn't my first pick.

The Schuylkill Trail goes behind the boathouses, so the view isn't that spectacular. And if the weather is even a little bit nice, the trail is guaranteed to be crowded.

If you're looking for a nature walk or an run/bike ride, I suggest going a little farther out on the Schuykill. There are other parking lots along Kelly Drive, and you'll have space to breathe.

Bottom Line: Boathouse Row is a great sight to catch on your way out of the city.
