“A must see when in Philly!”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

We stayed in Philadelphia for the week and had an extra day to explore outside the city and decided on Morris Arboretum. This place is amazing! Our 2 year old loved exploring the gardens, the birds nest and tree house. And the trains! We absolutely loved the gardens and if you have a few extra hours to spare, I highly recommend making the trip here. Before we got into the gardens we had to pay, $13 each person (I think) and we thought that was pricey but after visiting the gardens, I would pay it again. Pack a cooler for a picnic, tons of benches/chairs to sit. And the staff was very friendly.

“Feels like you're walking in a dream!”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

Beautiful, beautiful park!!! As you stroll from one section to the next, you feel as if you are walking through a dream sequence! The park offers tranquility, spirit, romance, wonder, nature, science - all the key components to refresh your soul after a weeklong stint in the daily grind of bad coffee, ringtones and paperjams! Visit and have yourself a great four-hour vacation!

“Great for Kids”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

As home schoolers, my kids and I spend a lot of time at the Morris Arboretum. There are wide open green spaces where the kids can run around, the log cabin for hours of imaginative play, and my kids have even been spotted in the creek on occasion!

I can't speak about the crowd levels on weekends, since we always go during the week, but weekdays the arboretum rarely feels crowded.

“Wonderful garden in the northwestern part of the city”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

This lovely over 90 acre garden has over 13000 plants, trees and flowers and is open daily. It is one of the best gardens in the Philadelphia area. It is in the Chestnut Hill area of the city and you can get there by car or public transportation. Check the website for directions.

A great place to wander with the man or woman of your dreams especially in the Spring, Summer or Fall. They have special exhibitions and occasional concerts.
