Silverstone Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #7 of 25 Philadelphia B&B and Inns

Everything was great about Silverstone when we stayed there for 5 days in May 2013. This history filled century home is very clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious with a private bath. Rom was a gracious host who joined us every morning at breakfast and helped us plan our day. Renee prepared a great breakfast each morning with a smile. Unlike motels each breakfast was different and freshly prepared. The sitting room is a great place to end the day with a glass of wine. 2 train stations are within walking distance (5 minutes and 15 minutes). The trip to Philly City Center is about 30 minutes. Also within 10 minutes walk is Chestnut Hill / Germantown Road where there are lots of restaurants and shops. The area is safe so we felt no discomfort when we walked "home" at about 11pm one night. If you like B&B's and enjoy homes with real character like squeaky steps and old fashioned bath tubs this is your place to be for a Philly trip.

When we got to the hotel, we entered an amazing house full of antiques. Yolanda was very pleasant and nice to us. The rooms are extremely clean and organized. Also, when we woke up a wonderful, delicious breakfast was served with a big smile .

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our recent stay (early January) at Silverstone. The house was beautiful and beautifully decorated - especially the Christmas decorations which were still up. Our room was spacious as was our private bath. We were made to feel very much at home by Yolanda when we arrived fairly late in the evening. We had a wonderful breakfast made to order as we were the only ones staying for breakfast that morning. We loved talking to Rom and learning about the history of the family pictures hanging in the hallway. Yolanda was very helpful giving us a map of the Chestnut Hill area and telling us about some of the places to visit in that area. We found it very convenient to both the historical area in the heart of Philadelphia and to Valley Forge National Park. We hope to spend more time in the Philadelphia area, and would love to stay at the Silverstone again.
Just one suggestion for Yolanda and Rom - it would be nice to be able to lock the room when we went out. Since we arrived in the evening, only stayed one night, and left in the morning, this was not an issue for us. If we came back to stay for a few days, we would like to feel our things were secure in the room.

This place is absolutely charming, the owners are a pleasure to talk to and deal with, the wood work in the house is stunning, A great value with a home cooked breakfast and very comfortable rooms. We got in very late due to travel issues and owners worked it out so we had no problems finding our way and were extremely accommodating. My wife and I would recommend this place to anyone headed to this area.
I have read all the reviews for this place and I honestly find some of them to be disheartening the people that were not happy probably would not be happy in a 5 star resort... this place was truly beautiful and they made me feel like i was at home.

Room Tip: the room with the canopy bed was extremely large and comfotrable

We had a wonderful time at Silverstone this past weekend. The rooms were very nice and well maintained, and the Tempur-Pedic bed was so comfortable we're thinking of buying one for ourselves! Breakfast was delicious with egg dishes, fresh fruit, and yummy coffee. The location is also excellent - it's about a 15 minute walk to the Chestnut Hill restaurants and shopping district, and an easy drive into downtown Philadelphia. But the true highlight of our stay came in how welcome we felt thanks to Rom and Yolanta. We had a great time chatting with Rom at breakfast - he's a fantastic storyteller! We felt like invited guests in their home, which for us is really why we prefer bed and breakfasts over a conventional hotel. We will definitely be back!

We just completed our 2nd stay at Silverstone. It was great. Yolanta and Rom are very nice, down to earth, helpful. Renee is so sweet, we love her! We have 2 young kids and find it a comfortable place to stay with them. I have not encountered other kids while there, the vibe is more grown up, but it works well for us! Definitely recommend. Lovely old mansion turned bed and breakfast, just charming!

when we arrived after long drive from vermont, we were greeted by Jolana and Rom with gracious appeal and interest. After brief tour and the location of our room we set up and went for a nice walk through Germaintown road. After our showers and changing of clothes we went to the evening function. After a nice quiet sleep at the bed and breakfast then an excellent breakfast, we reluctantly head to Washington, D.C.

I rank it as EXCELLENT.
