This is a great way to catch up on the heritage of the city. My issue was that I had small kids, and there was lots of reading, which I would have enjoyed had I not had youngsters to look after.

“Liberty's History”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

The information was given by the tour guide(park ranger), movie, and the store. Seeing the room where the Declaration of Indendence was signed made history come alive.

You get a real sense of history when you visit. The National Constitution Center is well worth the time to visit. There are many special events going on there. The Liberty Bell was worth seeing but the crowds were a bit much.
Do take time to see Benjamin Franklin's Grave

“Historical Gathering Place”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

This has become a place where history is all around you ... to the right, to the left. The Liberty Medal is awarded closeby at the Constitution Center every Independence Day. The Mall also hosts endless gatherings, such as candlelight memorials. In fact, on Sept. 30, Pancreatic Cancer Network will host a candlelight ceremony to honor those we have lost and those who have survived this dreadful disease. Philadelphia is the City of Brotherly Love and the City that Loves You Back. Just visit. There is so much to see. Honor our country !! The good ole' USA !!!

“This should be your starting point for your Philadelphia vacation.”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

The mall itself is basically a big lawn covering a couple of blocks. The important features include the Visitor Center, the Liberty Bell, the Constitution Center, and Independence Hall. There is a parking garage below the mall. Tip for parking: arrive before 9am and leave before 6pm to get the early bird rate: $12.50. This is also a garage where you pay before you leave. It's easiest to use a credit card when you enter (instead of getting a ticket), then use it again when you leave (you'll get a receipt). The Visitor Center is where you'll get your tickets for many attractions. Independence Hall is free but a ticket is required for timed entrance. I urge anyone who is going to be spending any time visiting several attractions in the city to get a Philadelphia Pass. You can get them for 1 day or 5 days. A 1 day pass costs $49. The pass covers over 30 attractions that charge admission. If you ride a Duck Boat and take the Big Bus Tour you'll already be ahead. Get this pass online & have it mailed to you or arrange to pick it up at the Visitor Center. If you don't want the pass but still want to take some kind of tour you can do that at the Visitor Center, too. Several tours leave near the Center. Also, the gift shop in the Center is pretty good.
