“Wonderful place to see any sort of music”

I use to have season tickets to the Philadelphia Orchestra. When this facility opened up I thought it was one of the most unique places in Philadelphia and around the world to see a concert. Sound quality excellent, beautiful visually.

“Terrific Kimmel Center concert by the Philadelphia Orchestra!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

Wonderful concert by the Philadelphia Orchestra on 2 October! A stagehand strike having forced the last-minute cancellation of the Gala Opening Concert at NYC's Carnegie Hall, the Orchestra decided to stage a free, "Pop-Up" concert at the Verizon Hall instead. Dressed in casual attire, just like the huge audience, Yannick and the Orchestra performed a first-rate programme. First, Marche Slav by Tchaikovsky, then Don Giovanni Overture by Mozart, followed by the Bacchanale from Samson et Dalila. Next, Yannick handed the baton to a 10-year girl for Rossini's William Tell Overture! The Orchestra finished with a terrific performance of Ravels' Bolero, before giving an Encore of Tchaikovsky's Onegin Waltz. This impromptu concert will surely encourage and motivate many new (and young) patrons to come and support the Orchestra.

“What a fabulous venue!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

Having heard my share of music in bad, acoustically-deprived halls, anchored with narrow seats, poor lighting, and less-than easy access, I was unprepared for my visit to the Kimmel Center. Sure, I spent the money on a high-roller seat at $100 plus (made somewhat bitter by the fellow sitting next to me who had profited from one of the last-minute $10 rush tickets) but I am now convinced that I could have found comfort, glorious sound and even acceptable sight lines from any seat in the house.

What a glorious experience . . . the first notes from the Philadelphia Orchestra told me, a non-musician, all I needed to know; that music played and heard in a superb hall is a special experience.

A big thank you to all who made the Kimmel Center a reality, including the citizens whose taxes were as important to its success as the contributions from patrons and business organizations.

Philadelphia, you have a winner!

“Home of the Philadelphia orchestra”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

The Kimmel center was built to provide a suitable world class venue for the orchestra. Whether seeing the orchestra or any one of the dozens and dozens of live performances presented at the Kimmel each year, you'll be treated to wonderful live entertainment in a majestic and comfortable setting.

“Beautiful theatre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

I saw Wicked at the Kimmel Center. Amazing show and great theatre. My seat was excellent but I didn't see a bad seat around. The staff get people to their seats quickly and with a smile. I will definitely look for more events to attend at the Kimmel Center
