“A fine adventure”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

If you are looking for a run-of-the-mill Spanish restaurant don't eat at Jamonera. If you are a bit adventurous, like to try new but delicious food, then this is the place for you. The plates are not large, so ordering 3 or 4 meals is the norm. Most people share for a mutually enjoyable meal. My wife uttered, as we left the restaurant, "that might have been the best meal I can remember ever having". The beer and wine list was large and varied enough to satisfy most people. I'm looking forward to returning when i visit philadelphia again.

“Nice tapas restaurant”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

A great place for a quick bite while enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine. The portions are small (tapas), so you have to order a few if you are there for dinner. I recommend the albondigas, garlic shrimp, stuffed dates and prosciutto/pear salad. The red sangria is also pretty good. The place is small and it gets filled up quickly, so reservations are a must.

“Creative presentation delicious tapas treats”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

My husband and I decided to try Jamonera before going to the theatre and were very glad we did. We had the autumn sangria roja - yum. Medjool dates appetizer, mushroom flatbread, vegetable appetizer and seafood paella. Everything was just great. Service was very attentive. There is a large bar and a few tables. Reservations is strongly recommended as word is getting out about this gem.

“Creative and delicious! Never a disappointment”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

This is a Spanish tapas restaurant that gets it right -- small delicious portions with lots of variety and good prices. The sangria is fantastic, and tends to be the one thing pushing our bill into the stratosphere, because one pitcher is never enough. The cured meats are as close to authentic as I could expect stateside, and all of the dishes are well-composed with accompanying pickled treats, sauces, and the like that make each one unique and exciting. It may have only been a seasonal menu item, but the pork loin with pumpkin stuffing was an exceptional new find on the menu this time. The service is overall very friendly and accommodating, and the staff all seem quite knowledgeable about the menu and particular foods. There's an occasional service lag, with empty water glasses and time waiting on the waiter to return, but it's not egregious and is easily forgiven in light of the complete experience. Highly recommended overall! Oh! And always always always get the buñuelos.

“Awesome food!”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

We dined outside with a party of 5 and were quickly seated. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful when we asked about the dishes. The food was tasty and cooked to perfection! The portions are small, but are meant to be shared with everyone on the table. Highly recommend their Sangria and skirt steak!
