“Good stay, nothing out of the ordinary.”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

I stayed here for one night with a few friends to get away. Location is great: in Center City across from City Hall and a short walk/subway/cab ride to most things worth doing. PPA overnight parking conveniently near by. The building itself is a beautiful Beaux Arts - Art Deco transitional tower. Registration lobby was small and not particularly welcoming- though rich and well-kept, but a nice open lounge space is available one floor up. The included breakfast there the next morning was pretty good.
The room itself was large with a great layout, especially if you have guests drop by. The kitchen area looked nice, though we didn't use it. The view, even on the backside of the building, was pleasant. Though the room was clean and well-equipped, it was getting a bit tired, with dated colors and carpet lifting in a few places.
I had very minimal interaction with staff, but check-in was efficient.
As far as value goes, it seemed fair for the area and the space we got. As an extended stay place though (which is what it is intended as), the bill would stack up pretty quickly. However, if location is very important, it's probably your best option when you need space to spread out.

Have stayed at all three Marriott hotels within this city block. Each one has its plus sides. As for this Residence Inn, I was not disappointed. Very friendly staff -- front desk, valet service, cleaning, etc. Hotel is clean and the 2nd floor lobby is nicely decorated with various seating arrangements, a bar area, tvs, and the dining area. I was very impressed with the wide selection of breakfast items -- egg dishes, meats, yogurts, freshly made breads and muffins, fresh fruits, and home made Belgium waffles. (Most "free" breakfasts are cold with minimum offerings.). The rooms are accommodating with a full kitchen and living area. The two queen beds were very comfortable with a nice selection of pillows! Clean but slightly worn is how I'd describe some of the things in the room -- the sofa, carpeting, and bathroom. Overall, I would definitely stay again if I need the extra room.

I stay at this hotel in October 2012. The location was exellent and the staff was very friendly.

They have a great breakfast bar. I would stay there again. It's across from Macy's. if you are planning to stay in Phila Pa I would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for business. The room was very comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the added convenience of having a 7-Eleven and Dunkin Donuts in the same bldg. It was a very short walk to shopping and site-seeing. The only downside is that valet parking is so expensive. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and plan to stay again when I am in Philadelphia.

We recently stayed at this Residence Inn and it was not up to the standards of other hotels in this chain. The rooms were filled with old furniture that was banged up, pictures ripped off the walls leaving holes. Wallpaper was pealing in some rooms. We even changed suites but the rooms all had the same problems. Noise from sirens was continuous as was the noise of other guests in suites on the same floor since the walls are very thin. We heard water running down the pipes in the walls all night.

Homeless people also ate in the dining area several days when we were there. We never saw anything like this in other Residence Inns in D.C, or Toronto. Don't know what happened here.

I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a temporary residence-- between the location, business center, workout facility, meals provided, and kitchenette with little living area in the rooms, it would definitely make living in a hotel tolerable and perhaps enjoyable. But if you're looking for a place to stay for a night or two while visiting the city, consider spending your money on a hotel that spends more of their money on the rooms and less on the longer-term stay amenities. Of course this makes sense, but I didn't realize how much Residence Inn's could vary from each other. Regardless, the staff was phenomenal and as accommodating, professional, and friendly as I could imagine. If I ever need to stay in Philadelphia for an extended period of time, I would definitely consider staying here!

One of the best hotels I had a chance to stay in. The rooms are more like apartments in themselves with all the amenities, including cutlery. And what can I say about the view. The Philadelphia City Hall greets you as you open the windows. Will definitely consider this hotel next time.
