We had a chance to enjoy the Vampires, Sex & Ghosts tour on Saturday night with Brittany. We met the 25ish other tour members on Market Street side of the Independence Hall Visitors center and proceeded to walk around the historic sites around the liberty bell. Our tour guide Brittany was fantastic - fun and loud and full of information. But if you're here in Philly for just a few days and you want a truly historic tour - this one isn't for you. The tour lasts nearly 2 hours and consists of about 6 stories. The stories can be a little gruesome and a pretty shocking, but for the most part it's PG-13. Our tour was mostly couples in their 20s - 30s - but I think you could bring a teenager along without too much worry.
The entire tour is outside (and because it's late at night - everything is closed) - so make sure you use the restroom and bundle up for the weather. You probably walk about 1.5 miles over the course of 2 hours, and while the the terrain is flat and I don't remember any stairs - this is not a particularly accessible-friendly activity.
Overall, a fun date night activity for locals and welcomed break from the monotony of historical tours for tourists.
