Hotel is quaint. Feels like your own home/apartment. Decor is old school charm but clean and new. Bathrooms are clean with great products :) Staff is really friendly.

This hotel is Philly's best kept secret. From the welcoming email one week prior from the concierge to the delicious cookies on our way out the door, this hotel is very special . The rooms are sparkly clean, roomy and tastefully decorated. The homemade breakfast and fresh squeezed juice was delicious. We enjoyed the wine reception with the rest of the wonderful guests. Terrific linens, delightful staff and attention to details made this one of our favorite places to stay in Philly.

The hotel was in a good location: central but on a quiet side street. Small hotel with a good personal service and a cosy feel. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and very clean. A nice breakfast was provided and free cookies in reception for guests! There was also a free wine reception each evening in the guest lounge, which was a nice touch, and a good way to meet other guests or just have a quiet drink. The only downside was a struggle to get hot water in the shower at certain times of day, but I think this was just down to being in an old building with a heating system that can't quite cope with the number of guests. Not the cheapest hotel but good value for money and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: rooms at the back (off the street) are quieter.

This little place (23 rooms) is not a cookie-cutter hotel. The rooms are beautiful and unique, but most important, the service was exceptionally attentive without being the least bit intrusive. We came for a getaway over Christmas weekend, and as expected, many places were closed. The concierge contacted us ahead of time to ask if we needed any assistance, and when we arrived, she had a list of nearby restaurants that would be open on Christmas day, along with her recommendations. They upgraded our room at no charge, and the room we got was very comfortable. My girlfriend loved the Molton Brown hair and bath products in the room. The continental breakfast was fine, and for an extra charge they made omelets or waffles for us to order. It was a bit pricy but you do get what you pay for. We'd stay there again.

I have stayed here twice on business, once in the two-story Presidential Suite. The attentive staff bends over backwards to see to your every request, The continental breakfast which comes included is ample. I liked the room decor; which included a very newly updated and tasteful bath, which is spacious, well lit and well appointed. A bit disappointing that the "fire" in the fireplace isn't real, although the flickering logs are pretty. Very comfortable, very quiet. Just a few things to be prepared for: the bathroom doors are glass, and not as opaque as they should be. Which is a problem if colleagues are meeting for business in the suite! Also, the rooms located above the sitting room area are accessed by steep old stairs (there is an elevator but it's on the other side and, because they combined two old buildings into one, the floors don't align, so, you have to deal with a flight of steps to your room regardless. Nonetheless I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again; it's pretty, comfortable, full of character, and well located. The suite, which comprises two floors with an interior staircase, has two story high windows (no view, though), and a wetbar, and is a good place for a meeting of 4-5 as long as you don't need to project a presentation - there are no blank walls. Because of the aforementioned transparency issue with the bathroom doors, my colleagues had to use the upstairs bath off the bedroom.
