Description: Behind the wrought iron gate, past the herbaceous patio and through the atrium is Talula's Garden, the warm and elegant Washington Square eatery from Aimee Olexy and Starr Restaurants. The modern menu, prepared with carefully-sourced ingredients and a light European touch, changes with the seasons. The artful cuisine, hospitable staff, sustainable spirits, and a focus on cheese make the dining experience here incredibly memorable.

This was a uniquely wonderful nite. We did the tasting menu and the pairings with wine....all were very very good. The pace was solid - we sat in bar area for quieter table and it worked well. Cost was not low $160 pp....but I would hasten to add that it was well worth it.

Took my nephew and his French sweetie out to dinner for his birthday. We'd been talking about his birthday and Tina, our server, picked up on it and wished him a happy birthday and made a bit of a fuss.

Started with the cheese selection that was superb, with the smoked blue cheese the star. We asked for gluten free option and got good GF crackers. Chicken liver mouse and salad were a lovely balance of acid and sweet, creamy and crunchy.

Complimentary brioche (yum) also had a GF sister that came as close to real bread as our GF diner has had.

Entrees were swoon-worthy -- duck breast/confit, stuffed squash and masala filet. All locally sourced, beautifully fresh and expertly spiced.

We didn't order dessert. However, Tina brought two coffee ice creams with cookie crumbs and a pear sorbet with poached pears (GF) - one of which had a candle.

A lovely space, perfect service and terrific food. Who could ask for more?

Beautifully decorated, we ate in the garden on a crisp September night. The outside heaters were well placed to keep us warm. We started with a fabulous cheese plate (I think we will return just for the cheese!) - definitely order this! We also tried a squash tortellini for an appetizer, I wished you tasted more of the filling - the dough was a little overbearing. I ordered the squash dish and it was prepared well while my husband had the lamb, also good with interesting flavors. Oh, we had the side of mushrooms, these are great if you love mushrooms like us! The portions were a little on the small side and the menu items were a bit pricey for the meals. Since their menu is seasonal, we would certainly try this again - perhaps for lunch!

A gem in the Independence Hall area just off Washington Square. This is a beautiful restaurant whose beauty is matched by its food and service. It is an outstanding experience with an emphasis on fantastic natural flavors. The setting and the ambience are wonderful and relaxed and really reflect a beautiful garden. The only downside is the cost is probably on the high end for high end restaurants but they certainly do deliver on the goods.

We had a long and wonderful family dinner at Talula' s garden. The structure of the restaurant ıs quıte pleasant inside, also the garden part, where we sat, is peaceful. The dinner choices are quıte plenty and satısfactory to most tastes, and so are the wine choices. We were extensıvely informed by the servıce personel about the dıshes and wıne. They were also very pleasant and helpful. Comıng to dıshes, all were elegantly planned, cooked and served. It was a very pleasing experıence in all aspects. I will miss this restaurant.
