“A very nice meal but a little heavy on the salt”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

In many ways this would have been the perfect meal. The food was very fresh. The portions were controlled. The room was lively but not overpoweringly noisy. Our only complaint was that three out of four of the dishes that we had were on the salty side. To be fair, we don't put a lot of salt on our food compared to most Americans. I think we would be more than willing to try the restaurant again and see if our observation stands.

“Definitely one of Philadelphia's best restaurants!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

This was our first time dining here. It won't be the last! The food was spectacular. Every course tasted better than the last. His beet steak appetizer was amazing as were the frog legs. All six of us loved everything including the great desserts. It's a BYOB which is a plus. Can't wait to go again.

“Great new experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

My wife and I and friends ate here before going to the Walnut Street Theatre. What an outstanding experience. The menu is made each night with new items everyday except for a couple of items. It is a BYOB. The service was excellant, the food was great. The tables are in the living room of an old house. We will go again. The food changes so you always have a new experience.

“Three E's: extraordinary, exquisite , and an exemplar”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

Joshua Lawler has created a true masterpiece. Service, ambience, and attention to detail are stellar, BUT the food, OH THAT FOOD, sensational. Each course an harmonious blend of flavors and artful presentation.

Fishermen's catch and farmers' oeuvre have not often been so complimented by such a consummate restauranteur. Wonderful evening!!!

“Utterly charming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

We loved this place, even though we had not been aware it was a BYOB and had to settle for sparkling water. The delicate dishes are very well composed and brilliantly executed, with a special eye for vegs and great care for the quality of the ingredients. The service is very friendly and personal. It is a very small restaurant, that is obviously well known and loved by locals, so make sure to reserve ahead. A wonderful experience, highly recommended.
