Tavern is one of our most frequented pub/restaurants in the neighborhood. It is our tradition to eat here after arriving home from long road trips, but we also visit here for small, intimate celebration meals as well as with visiting family and friends.
The atmosphere is intimate. You walk past the pub/bar area to a seating area in the rear of the restaurant. The proprietor is very friendly, and usually greets and seats us. Of the menu items, I love the portabello sandwich and I usually order it with the goat cheese and beet salad. My husband loves the burger with sweet potato fries. The crab cakes are fabulous here. They also have a late-night menu; the petite filet is wonderful, as is the salad with chicken, blue cheese, apples and walnuts.
