Our party of four visited the Dandelion for a birthday celebration. It was doing a brisk business for a Wednesday evening, and we were given a lovely table in one of the upstairs rooms by a large window. The decor is charming with old dark wood, upholstered furnishings and fireplaces in the numerous small dining rooms. The staff is friendly and the menu featured traditional British food and drinks. The food was very good if a little bit pricey. We had a lovely time and never felt rushed. Would definitely go there again, especially for a special occasion.

Went in with a large group for a late afternoon lunch/drink; we had reservations. The staff seemed to be very impressed with themselves, and their demeanor was not super friendly upon our arrival when we weren't sure if the rest of our party had already been seated. I thought also from the surface the restaurant lacked cleanliness, old wood floor and old fabric and upholstered chairs do not project proper sanitization practices but I don't think this is what they are going for. This is one of those places that is obviously coasting on current popularity. I had actually already eaten before arriving because I don't think any hamburger is worth $16.50, and I had previously seen the menu. I shared a cheese tray with another person, and it was 3 cheeses and a few crackers for, again, about $16--completely overpriced and not tasty. Some had the fish and chips, which seems to be a popular offering, and it looked decent; there were no complaints but it is one piece of fish and a few fries. They served sparkling water in decanters at the table, which was nice, and the bread was also good. Overall this is a place that is trying too hard to be an 'authentic' English pub, and the prices and the food simply are not worth it. There are too many other nicer bars in Philadelphia with better prices and better food to waste your time on this one...

We walked in on a Friday night after trying Tria across the street, which was really Loud and crowded. We were so glad we switched venues. Dandelion is a beautiful old house with a warm and charming atmosphere. We were a group of 4 friends who wanted to sit where we could talk without yelling, and this was perfect. I recommend going upstairs to the 2nd or higher floors. It was beautiful and quiet. The food was amazing. All of us loved our meals ranging from shepherds pie to vegetarian dishes of risotto and celery Au gratin (unsure of spelling). This was one of my favorite restaurants while visiting Philadelphia. I've heard they also have an incredible brunch. The food is English, but is very gourmet and flavorful.

British pub atmosphere and great food and drinks. Welcoming staff. Johnathan was the best. Cash beers were outstanding. Want for dinner prior to orchestra concert on a Thursday. Place was busy with a good vibe. Decor is terrific

Had a late lunch/early dinner here on a Sunday in mi March. Food was very good, well prepared and presented. Service was friendly and attentive. They bill themselves as an authentic English Pub. Having been in a number of the real things in London, I would say Dandelion is a perfect replication of what the average American thinks an English Pub should be like. Not necessarily a negative since the service in most London Pub is brisk at best but still not exactly the real deal.

We walked in without reservation and the place was mobbed. We left a name and were asked to return in an hour which we did. Had to wait (at the bar) another ten minutes before a table was ready but worth the wait.

All in all, a pleasant experience. The bartender was on the ball and the drunks were well made. The upstairs dining room is charming and the menu had something for everyone in our family party of five. Given its English theme, roast beef is offered several ways and all were excellent. Reservations highly suggested for busy times.
