I have eaten at this unpretentious store-front restaurant several times and never been disappointed. Han Dynasty is a BYOB serving Chinese food with distinct, individual styles and flavors. Many of the dishes that contain meat can be ordered with the meat on the side so that vegetarian and meat eaters can share dishes. Spice levels are accommodated, but you should specifically ask for values at either end of the extreme scale.

This is a no-frills restaurant. The space can be a bit noisy and it can be difficult to be seated without a reservation during normal meal hours. I have made it a practice to go early. Pricing here is a little higher than other similar Chinese restaurants in the surrounding communities, but in Manayunk it is a bargain.

This restaurant lived up to its reputation as far as we were concerned.
They encourage family style sharing with somewhat large portions but we all had little trouble with ordering our own appetizers and entrees.
Restaurant is very spacious and situated in the beautiful former Corn Exchange building in the heart of Old City.
Spiced just right, the food was very good.

We loved the Han Dynasty in Mannyunk, PA., where the Dan Dan noodles are worth going miles out of the way for. This newly opened version has the same interesting menu, but the results are not quite as good. The waiter advised us that the Mannyunk site is more interested in flavor, where as this version is more concerned with spice. He was correct. We prefer flavor. The noodles were slightly overcooked and oily. At spice level 5 out of 10, the heat of the spices threatened to overcome the definitive flavor of Dan Dan noodles. The ingredients also seemed a bit tired. Order your spice level carefully. The wait staff T shirts all sport (10) on the back, representing the highest spice level. It must be a killer. We also ordered eggplant, which was tasty but too oily. Service was good. The bank-like venue has historic interest, as it was originally a grain exchange.

We like the interesting menu and approach to Chinese cooking. This venue needs to pay a little more attention to flavor and lighten up on the oil.

Came here for a special occasion for a friend of mine and had a wonderful time. Lots of great food for fair price due to the quality alone. Everyone on the menu sounded great and the food that we did order came out amazing. The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. Overall I had a great time and a wonderful meal.

I went with a large group to the new location in Olde City. This is a great place for a large group to share. I've never been to China, so cannot speak to how authentic this place it. It is, nonetheless, delicious. The spicy cucumber appetizer and dan dan noodles are excellent. Even more than the flavor, it's the texture of the dan dan noodles that make then special. They tasted liked they'd been pulled that day, and were much better than the take out dan dan I had gotten at the University City location a few months ago. The dumplings were just ok. Other standouts were the cumin beef and salt and pepper shrimp.
