Very lively place - 9:15 on a Wednesday it was still quite loud. Food served for sharing, lots of small plates. Our group had 4 starters and 4 mains. All the pasta dishes were excellent as were the meatballs, risotto balls and the ricotta. With drinks the bill was very reasonable for dining in a big city. Will return. Highly recommended.

Very tasty cheese plate enjoyed with a glass of sparkling wine... Grilled asparagus with ricotta cheese, cilantro, and peas... Followed by a luscious pork chop? With a Pinot from Burgundy.

Made a res through open table with no problem. Great small plates! Only drawback was the wine list could have been better. Little loud and cozy neighbors to be intimate.

Based on some on-line reviews we decided to give Barbuzzo a try. Reservations even on a Sunday night pay off. At 8pm there was a 45 minute wait with no reservation. The small plates menu has a wide variety of tasty opitons and the wine list has something for every palate. We started with beet salad, the ordered the shrimp, mussels and a pasta plate. For wine, we had a nice Austrian Zweigelt, which more recently come in 1L bottles. (No complaints there!). Portions were well execute, tasty and with flavors perfectly balanced. The balance of flavours was evident when we ordered the mussels with no olives, and realised that it was missing something with a little saltiness or tartness to it; exactly what the olives would provided. Our loss! Rounding off the meal, the house desserts were perfect. The tiramisu was just the right moistness with out being too soggy or to dry. Definitely would recommend this restaurant and next time we are in Philadelphia, we'll certainly go back.
