We live in Mt. Airy and try to frequent local establishments. When they first opened I felt they were charging more than what the food was worth but nO more! Food is great. The tuna app is to die for. Excellent place. Bartender is surley. My only complaint

This lovely bistro in the recently developed 7100 block of Germantown Avenue section of Mt. Airy offers an eclectic and wonderfully varied menu.

Food: The starters include, pei mussels with a choice of either marinara or Thai curry sauce or beer, that a friend who had these said he was in lust!; pita nachos with ezpazote, black beans & avocado salsa ($9); or poblano poppers withchipolte salsa & sour cream ($9); wings with bleu cheese dressing ($8) and a hummus plate with grilled pita & vegetables ($8). What did I tell you eclectic and finger-licking good. Interesting salads and sandwiches such as a Buffalo Burger ($10), among others, to the sides including a delicious corn bread pudding, and garlic mashed potatoes (each at $4). The entrees are all very good and range from the pan fried Tilapia with sauteed vegetables & smoked mushroom sauce ($16); and the meatloaf that reminds of mom's but this one has garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus & a tomato-shallot sauce ($14); and yes they have steak, for the true carnivores.

Deserts include tres leches with a caramel sauce & fresh whipped cream, at $6; and a Chocolate layer cake with fresh berries & a chocolate sauce ($6), that are to die for.

The atmosphere is warm and pleasant and the service is excellent.

I liked the food and the atmosphere. I was annoyed by the lack of available parking, even though there is a huge lot next door it was full and so was street parking. But after a 5 minute wait a spot right in front of the restaurant opened up.

I love The Wine Thief and have been many times. The food is wonderful, well presented, tasty, and very reasonably priced. The bar is really nice, fully stocked, and the cocktails are delicious. I have never had to wait very long, even on weekend evenings. They are family friendly, very accomodating and the service is consistently good.
