Description: Amis brings the quintessential Roman-style trattoria to Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. Opened in 2010 by Vetri Family partners Jeff Benjamin and Chefs Marc Vetri, Brad Spence and Jeff Michaud, Amis has cemented its place as one of the city's premier dining destinations, garnering high praise from such publications as the Philadelphia Inquirer (three-out-of-four-bells) and Bon Appetit magazine ("Top 10 Places for Pasta in the U.S."), and from the crowds of regular guests who pack its dining room nightly for dinner and weekends for brunch. Lively, comfortable and convivial, dining at Amis is perfect for a variety of occasions, boasting a share-plates menu of house-made pasta, salumi, farm-fresh meats and peak seasonal vegetable dishes, perfect for sharing while celebrating with friends and family, or a meal out with someone special. Be sure to ask about our "Beast of Amis" menu too. These special dishes feature whole animals-birds, hogs, fish and even full sides of beef.

A great neighborhood location walking distance from the Theatre district. Walked their after a show and it was the perfect place to unwind and talk about the performance. Great setting, open kitchen, but not loud. Anything with pork in it was perfectly prepared. Salalds and veggies also done well. Try the pineapple Italian soda for a treat. Will definitely return on next visit to Philly.

We arrived early and the hostess was very gracious and welcomed us. We sampled the house red and white wines and then ordered carafes. Our waitress did a wonderful job of guiding us through the menu. Entrees were great. Dessert was home made. Place gets a little noisy but not deafening. You'll need a reservation.

You can not go wrong with Amis. If you are out to dinner with friends or on a date, the food and service wrestle for excellency. Make sure to leave room for one of the delicious desserts; the rice pudding is too unbelievably good to pass up. Pay attention to the specials because whatever this group of talented chefs whip up, it's worth a try! If you have the opportunity to sit at the kitchen bar, do it because it is a wonderful experience. Eat up!

I had high hopes for this place just from looking over the menu. It did not disappoint. Just about everything we had was pretty darn good. We ordered a few appetizers to share and then we each got a few more things to share at our table of 4. The only exception being my wife's lamb was a tad crispy and they confused the tawny port I ordered with a ruby. I'll chalk it up to a rookie mistake, because the food made up for it. I would definitely go back. There is so much on the menu that looks so appealing.

The food was a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. Some of it was cold in the middle. There was a lot of dust on everything from the lights to the fans. That's not what I want to see when eating. Staff was very friendly.
