We had a great time here in this very styly hotel - one of Philly's newest. Here's my review on Blogger at Large if you want ideas for what to do in the area and my experience of this property >>> http://www.bloggeratlarge.com/blogging-america/le-meridien-philadelphias-newest-hotel/

Hotel was clean and new, the service was promt and pleasant, the location was central to pretty much everything we wanted to do in Philadelphia and within walking distance to the old city, the mint and tons of shopping. The decor was a bit too "trendy" and already looked a bit out of date, but would much prefer that to polyester and dull. The building was beautiful and we couldn't have been much happier with our experience. We thought that charging $9per day for in room WiFi was too much though.

This is a new hotel right across the street from the Town Hall. Its location is perfect, within walking distance to attractions, several wonderful restaurants, China town and quaint shops. Although the wind blew for most of our trip, we did a lot of walking around the area and found it safe both day and night. The hotel's staff was great at getting us cabs for the few times we needed one.

The staff was tremendously friendly, especially the concierge, Joseph, to took good care of us. Our room had a slight issue with the bathroom and they had a sign that said that a design flaw might result in water leaking from the shower area onto the floor. It did but an extra towel took care of the problem. They provide a stocked refrigerator bar and the bed was nearly as comfortable as the Westin's heavenly bed.

If you want to save a few bucks for a room with a non-bar refrigerator. That way you can buy your goodies and drinks from a local CVS and save by not using up their stock. Also, be sure to ask for a high floor with a view. Ours was spectacular. All-in-all, Le Meridien was a tremendous experience for us. We WILL be back.

Le Meridien Philadelphia is a beautifully styled hotel in a historic urban building, located right across the street from City Hall in a very central location. The design sensibility is clean and modern (much like the W Hotel brand), and the staff is courteous and efficient. Rooms are spotless and chic, although style seems to trump comfort (modern, angular furniture not quite suitable for lounging, and a somewhat sterile air). Bed is the exceptionally comfortable type typical of Starwood properties, however, and the bathroom is bright and spacious. The room rate was a very good value, and hotel services like in-room dining an minibar were surprisingly reasonable. Even though my room faced a busy downtown street, it was very quiet, so they have sound-proofed well. The only drawback of the place is the block it's on: the family court and McDonald's a few doors down seem to draw a collection of unsavory people hanging around on the sidewalk at all hours. I am a big, strong guy accustomed to urban life, so it didn't bother me too much to walk the block alone at night, but it might be unsettling for some travelers,

Our modern, sleek design is certainly undeniable and as we adventure into discovering how to make high-end modern design work in a hotel setting I am confidant we will be able to increase the comfort and warmth of every guest experience.

I do also appreciate that you brought up our neighborhood; as you noted our central location is a key feature and although the neighborhood is undergoing a transformation we see our place as trend setters important to really making this section of Philadelphia a world class destination. Over the next 6 months we will see the completion of the Convention Center expansion, the addition of the Cherry Street Promenade and the introduction of the Barnes Foundation to Center City. All within blocks of our front door.

Our team is very excited to be part of this cultural awakening that will be happening on the North Broad side of city hall.

We got this hotel via Hotwire via the 4 star ranking. It was amazing. Quiet and luxurious room that sealed out the noise and light. Most of the staff was very helpful.

From the moment we were met at the front door by the friendly and helpful staff member to the regretful time the next day when we departed, we enjoyed virtually every minute at the Meridien. The decor in the lobby and rooms is different from anything we have experienced. The layout is unusual, as the lobby bar is the first thing you see as the automatic double doors open. However we did end up spending some delightful time at the bar as the bartenders, like everyone else on the staff, were interesting and gracious. The rooms were more than adequate in size, and the bathroom is spacious. We slept very well on the firm but comfortable bed. The location is perfect! We walked to the Art Museum (although I admit we took the Phlash back after an afternoon on our feet) and the next day walked to the Reading Terminal Market. The front desk was very willing to check our luggage (as many others were doing as well) so we really had a 30 hour stay for the price of one night. We will return just as soon as we are able!

This is place is fantastic, it is architectually striking and the building is rich in history. The hotel had done an amazing job addinng a modern element to the building. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well appointed.

We had a chance to eat at the restaurant and it was literally the best meal I have had in the city in years. (Short ribs)

The staff was amazing and took the time to explain the history of the building as well as the story behind their cuisuine. They make their own cured meats. Everything we ate was aces. Don't forget to check the drink menu, cool touch featuring "classic" cocktails like and Old Fashion etc.

We will be back! Maybe even once a month.

Thanks!
