The lines may be quite long later in the day so do this early. The Liberty Bell is fantastic to see up close and personal!

Visiting the Liberty Bell is free but be prepared that you may have to wait in line outside with no shade - on a very hot day it can be brutal! Tickets for Independence Hall are free, but require pick-up at the visitor's center across the way. Again, perhaps it is my fault for not being prepared, but on a hot day it is brutal to have to walk back and forth trying to figure out how to get in to these places!

Independence Hall, however, was wonderful once we got in. Our tour guide was incredibly engaging and was able to keep my interest (which is quite a feat, since I don't find history all that interesting!)

A really haunting and memorable experience as you walk where Washington, Franklin, Jefferson et al walked and debated. Many sites still around including Carpenter hall where the First colonial Conferences were held. You can see the Liberty Bell and much much more.

A great place to see where our great country began. It's a lovely square of things to see. The parking really isn't cheap but it's worth spending the money to stay and see everything there is. Get your tickets online or get there early. We arrived at 10 AM and it was already packed. The park rangers give free tours so if you have time I suggest taking one to learn what they have to offer.

It poured buckets!!! But we still had a great time running from place to place and filling our and our young kids brains with history! We were totally soaked, with water and History!
Amazing to see no matter what the weather.
