We did a bus tour of the city and got off at the zoo. This was a good choice, greeted by a spacious fountain area with tables and chairs. Not much in the way of food, but we made do. Nice variety of animals, not spaced too far apart. Animals were content and looked well cared for. Jaded back to the bus and continued the tour.

This is a great place to spend a day. Parking is available just outside the zoo. The layout of the zoo makes it easy to navigate and there is a nice variety of animals. Definitely recommend a visit!

Although not a huge zoo it is worth the trip. I like the old style zoo but I think the animals like this one better. Make sure you take your camera up In the Balloon for some great aerial views of boat House Row and the city skyline

I loved the zoo, as always. The great addition is the parking garage directly next to the entrance. In addition, the changes to the park since I was young are definite improvements. The outside entrance is cleaned up and the park is clean and well maintained.

I wasn't expecting much from this zoo since we live close to the National Zoo in Washington DC and go there often, but my grandchildren wanted to go. I was pleasantly surprised! The zoo was clean and the animals didn't seem to have that caged nervousness you sometimes see in zoos. There was a nice variety of animals. Wear comfortable shoes, there is a lot of walking. The kids were impressed when the polar bear swam right up to the window where we were standing. The food was very expensive so plan ahead and pack a cooler. There are picnic areas to use. The day we went was Boo at the Zoo so I imagine it was a little more crowded than usual. LOTS of small costumed children running around having fun. This was a nice way to spend one of our afternoons in Philadelphia.
