“Best Outside Activity for every age!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Going to the Zoo is definitely one of my favourite activities. The Phila Zoo is amazing! If you love monkeys or snakes, the Phila Zoo has a special 2 special places with a lot of varieties of them! And it is a plus that you can walk outside or inside, so if it is raining, you can still go to the Zoo! :D

“The 1st Zoo”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

As soon as you arrive you can tell that this was America's first zoo. The zoo is located not far from downtown in a highly congested area. Parking is tough but the only alternatives are taking the Girard St trolley or catching a cab. While the zoo is limited because of the confines of being within a old historic city, once you enter the gates you are impressed at the lenghts they went to to modernize some of the more ancient exhibits with some excellent walk throughs. The Gorillla house was excellent and taking a flight on the moored baloon will make you a hero with your kids for a least a day.

“America's first zoo.”

I first went here when I was but a toddler. It may not be the same to go as an adult, but it is still a fantastic daytrip. Well maintained and cared for, the zoo and its animals are a must do trip for families and a nice date spot for adults.

“A really nice day with the family.”

It has been a long time since I visited the Philadelphia zoo, and I was pleasantly surprised. Gone were the old animal houses, replaced with outdoor exhibits and walk throughs. The staff was friendly and the variaty of animals was awesome.

Lots to see. Gorilla house should not be missed. The Zoo balloon is a must! New animals and exhibits all the time. We go several times each year.
