The PA Academy of Fine Arts, PAFA, is a hometown treasure for Philadelphians, both the art work and the architecture. Once you get by the classic exterior designed by local favorite, Frank Furness, and the huge paintbrush sculpture, you go inside and are dazzled by the collection of art. It's small enough to see in a morning, and you won't be disappointed. Dozens of pictures you know by heart, the originals are right here. And what knocks me out is that this is right in my neighborhood and most of the artists lived nearby too. The way I describe it is that it is our Orsay to the Louvre a few blocks away on the Parkway. If you're into art and culture, it's a don't-miss in Phila.
