“Kids loved it!”
Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

My boys, age 10&11, loved this place. We were disappointed that they were not working and would like to go back to see that. Still thought it was worth our time. And it is free!

“Worth the Stop”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Interesting and informative self-guided tour of the Mint. We learned how the coins are made as we walked along above the mint floor. We started out in a line in front, but things moved quickly to get inside. There was security a check in front of the building and we showed them our IDs. This was a nice quick tour to do in the area.

“The price is right and best water in town!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

The US mint was just what we were looking for, it was cool inside and there were some interesting things to look at. You can't really see a lot in the manufacturing process, but there are nice poster displays to tell you all about the process. I was very tired and hot before we went in, but by the end of the tour, I felt rejuvinated. Near the end, there is a drinking fountain to fill bottles of water, which I did, and it was probably the best thing that happened to me that day! Nice gift shop.

Was very enjoyable, good for the family, something free to do. Learn a lot about how coins are made. No photos though.

“GREAT STOP FOR ALL FAMILIES:”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

We were thrilled with this tour! My husband, children, and I had been trudging through the heat all day long and were very excited to take this nice cool tour. It's self-guided and very informative. The fact that you can watch each step of the coin-making process is amazing. We all enjoyed it very much. As other reviewers have mentioned, cameras are forbidden...but the security guard didn't make us leave them outside. He just made sure we knew not to use them...and we respected that. There were no problems.

The gift shop is a little lacking, but the tour was totally worth it. And, unlike many other things in the city, it's FREE!!!!
