Fun to see how our coins are made. My son loved it. He learned so much about the process through the self guided tour. Loved the gift shop too.

“It's free, and a time killer in Old City”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

I wish I could be more enthusiastic but hey, it is what it is. Want to kill an hour? I'm an old time coin collector and my wife is into the new stuff that they stopped providing to the banks (I mean the new presidential dollar coins for her). She couldn't get satified by their gift shop, which should have had this stuff. The rest was a view of the factory that made the coins. It's OK. It's free. It's near everything else in Old City.

Watching the nation's coins being produced at the Philadelphia Mint is pretty cool, especially for kids.

“Great self-guided tour”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

We loved this place and stopped in twice. The best part is looking down into the factory where they're making coins (only making them during the week). We saw a lot of large commemorative coins being made as well as pennies. Really neat operation, but the rest of the building and displays look like something from 1965. Still fun to stroll through and they have a nice gift shop.
