“Great Museum”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

This museum is designed along theme lines tying together the Judean/Jewish experience as it is interwined with the history of the U.S.A. Its exhibits are informative, detailed, with plenty of space in a modern design building right off the Mall. I recommend 2-3 hours and no more, even if you do not get through all the exhibits simply because there is so much to take in from sports, history, religion etc.

“A beautiful representation of the American Jewish Experience”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

Great museum with interactive exhibits. There was a baseball exhibit which I truly enjoyed. This was NOT a holocaust-centric exhibit which was refreshing as many times the Holocaust overshadows other significant aspects of the Jewish Experience. Would recommend 3 hours especially if the baseball exhibit is still running.

“Philly American Jewish History Museum”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

A very different twist on a Jewish Museum - history of Jews in America. Wonderful exhibit - took us 5 hours and we did not finish - cannot wait to return. What was so good about it was that the journeys of Jews in America translate into almost any nationality - a must see for everyone.

“Informative yet not all that it should be”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

We visited the museum and found it lacking in some very important and strategic areas. It is a very nice and informative place yet not all that it should or could be. We would love to see more detail given towards the tragic events of the Holocaust. We understand that it is an American Jewish History Museum, however we feel that the events before, during and after the Shoah had an enormous effect on those that came to America to build new lives and start new families. So many and so much have contributed to the growth and prosperity and the history of this country. Worth the visit if your an American/Jewish history buff.

“Museum Dedicated to Interesting Aspect of Jewish History”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

This fairly new museum is dedicated to the American Jewish experience, dating back to colonial times. It is in the heart of Philadelphia's historic district, steps away from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The location of this museum is not an accident, because the founders wanted to show how integral being American is to the Jewish identity in this country.
The exhibits on the floors are organized in chronological order, with the oldest history at the top floor of the museum. The museum is generally well-laid out and user-friendly. It has a lot of interactive exhibits for young people mixed in with more traditional displays.
They are about to open what looks like a great exhibit on baseball and its impact on the American Jewish experience.
This is a don't-miss opportunity for anyone coming to Philadelphia -- whether you are Jewish or not.
