We visited the museum and found it lacking in some very important and strategic areas. It is a very nice and informative place yet not all that it should or could be. We would love to see more detail given towards the tragic events of the Holocaust. We understand that it is an American Jewish History Museum, however we feel that the events before, during and after the Shoah had an enormous effect on those that came to America to build new lives and start new families. So many and so much have contributed to the growth and prosperity and the history of this country. Worth the visit if your an American/Jewish history buff.

This fairly new museum is dedicated to the American Jewish experience, dating back to colonial times. It is in the heart of Philadelphia's historic district, steps away from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The location of this museum is not an accident, because the founders wanted to show how integral being American is to the Jewish identity in this country.
The exhibits on the floors are organized in chronological order, with the oldest history at the top floor of the museum. The museum is generally well-laid out and user-friendly. It has a lot of interactive exhibits for young people mixed in with more traditional displays.
They are about to open what looks like a great exhibit on baseball and its impact on the American Jewish experience.
This is a don't-miss opportunity for anyone coming to Philadelphia -- whether you are Jewish or not.

This museum is three full floors of American History from the Jewish perspective. It is brilliantly laid....a combo of artifacts, reading, and audio/visual displays.

Our 9 year old really enjoyed it too.

Start from the first floor and work your way down. The coat check is free so take advantage. Pass on the gift shop....beautiful stuff....very over priced.

This museum was quite remarkable. Wonderfully arranged with a tremendous display of artifacts arranged through various eras. The free guided tour added wonderful incite to the various displays.

Lovely building. Very user friendly. Excellent use of movies, images, historic letters and objects, pictures and stories. Not too crowded, plenty of space for viewing. Right near Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.
