“Great experience!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Wonderful new museum with lots of multi-media to inform and entertain. Well worth the admission. Cafe not much to speak of but ok for a salad or beverage. Gift shop is great. Parking in the area is dicey because of proximity to Independence Hall. Some street/metered parking is available but be sure to check the complex parking rules. Not to be missed.

“A Must-See Museum”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

This new museum is just beautiful and informative. We spent several hours there, and could have done more. It requires more than one visit to absorb all the information. It is a welcome addition to the many places to visit in Phila.

“Good Family Attraction”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

It was simply good - I can imagine it being a good attraction for families, perhaps with older children, however.

“Starts slow, but give it time...”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

The beginning floor (4th) starts with a lot of reading; this just gets to be a little difficult if there are a lot of people there or if you're with a group. But the progression down the stairs is great, and there's a wonderful mix of aspects of the American Jewish experience.

This is indeed the museum of American Jewish History, so there is not quite the same emphasis on overall Jewish history as there is in some other museums I've visited, but this is a very special place for exploring the many facets of being Jewish in the United States. Some is grim (the Leo Frank story is unforgettable, of course) but then there's the light loveliness of the Purim ballroom as contrast. A great blend with a focus on interaction, this is definitely a place I'd recommend for anyone from about age 12 and up.

“New Museum”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

This Museum, dedicated in November 2010, features Americana Jewish style. Lots of history. Top floor has mostly 18th century American Jewish history. As the visitor descends, the times become more recent. My grandkids loved the real covered wagon that was part of pioneer days exhibit and I loved the 1950's nostalgia from the Catskills.
