“I really enjoyed this museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2012

They recently re-opened this museum in a new venue, and it is beautiful.

You don't have to be Jewish to appreciate the museum. There are a lot of interactive exhibits and a lot to see.
Very well done.

“Don't miss!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2012

This is not like any other museum we've ever visited. It is an uplifting history of the Jews in America. We spent 4 1/2 hours here. There were so many interesting films and exhibits. Start off on the 4th floor and work your way down. It starts from 1654 to present day. The 35 minute film in the lobby is a must-see when you are through visiting the top three floors. It is beautifully designed and there are wonderful views of the Independence Mall area from each floor. Everyone who worked/volunteered at the museum was so friendly and helpful.

“An impressive museum”

We enjoyed walking through the four floors of exhibits, but since we wanted to have the experience on our own, we had the challenge of avoiding the tours with too-audible guides.

“Beautiful museum and gift shop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

It is easy to spend 2-3 hours here going through the many exhibits of Jews in America throughout the centuries. There is quite a bit of reading on the wall but there are also many little movies which are fabulous. If you go on a Saturday, you need to buy your tickets on line in advance.

“Worth a visit, but allow enough time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

This new museum is beautifully laid out and visually appealing. The exhibits concentrate on Jewish history in America, which I think is a virtue. They don't try to cover everything from the beginning of time and everywhere in the world. The artifacts are interesting and they seem to have made an effort to be well-rounded and objective. They don't shirk from discussing the involvement of Jewish merchants in the 19th Century slave trade, for example. The emphasis is on what people's lives were really like--working, socializing, etc.--and their involvement in the life and social movements of the times in which they lived. You start on the top floor and work your way down. The history goes just about up to the present. We entered at 3 pm, and still weren't done by closing time at 5. We plan to return in order to see everything.
