This is a very nice museum that touches on many country's past times and uprisings. I recommend this museum over all the rest; except for the mutter museum, that museum was awesome. We learned a lot as well as looked at beautiful artifacts that seemed quite well kept.

Honestly, before visiting I did not expect that this museum was so good. I have particularly appreciated the sections about the Alaskans and the Native Americans, the one about the Middle East archeology, the Egyptian and Chinese sections, etc. All items are well displayed and documented. Highly recommended.

This is a must to visit museum if you have a heart for history. Very informational and educational. The Iraq exhibit is great to read through. We were fascinated by the artifacts and the experience from the excavation.

Went there yesterday, not knowing what to expect. Lovely...not very crowded with well-displayed cultural artifacts from so many eras/areas. Not sure if little children would appreciate it, but my teenagers both enjoyed it. Stayed 3 hours.

We booked for the Penn Museum's Simple and Sweet Wedding Package, and it has been a great experience. We wanted to have a ceremony, but nothing too big or expensive.
You can book the wedding during business hours Monday- Friday and invite about 30 guests. The atmosphere is so much better than just running down to City Hall AND as a bonus my fiance (soon-to-be husband) are getting museum memberships that are included in the $350 price! This is seriously the best inexpensive wedding option in Philadelphia.
Such a beautiful museum!!!
