Owner description: People-watching is the favorite pastime at this busting park, with loads of benches to accommodate weary pedestrians.

Just the most relaxing, beautiful Square in the city and probably the country. You meet the nicest people and they might be billionaires or very poor. The Square seems to bring out the best in people.

Go there, walk slowly and try to remember that this open space, in the middle of one of America's largest cities, was laid out by William Penn. After walking through this urban oasis, walk around the parimeter -- stop for lunch at Parc or any of the other many restaurants. Browse the Barnes and Noble Bookstore. Look in the windows of the many boutique stores that are adjacent to the square. One could spend an entire afternoon there or on the adjacent streets.

Rittenhouse park use to have beautiful lights, and the city streets had beautiful decorations to help celebrate the Christmas holidays. This Christmas we were very disappointed. The park is not as wonderous as it was in the past. Somebody in city hall is a big scruge...shame on the city of Philly

The nicest place to hang out, eat lunch or view art is Rittenhouse Park. It is surrounded by high rise buildings, offices and hotels and restaurants and apartments. It is the nicest of areas. Christmas has a tree, Spring has an art festival with clothesline exhibits by local artists. Take a stroll and enjoy this lovely park!

I love to visit Rittenhouse, if it is for a walk, to stay in one of the hotel's overnight, or to grab a nice dinner.
