Short weekend visit to the Philadelphia area led me to this place. After spending most of Saturday walking around the Historical District of Phili, we wanted to take our kids to do something fun. Our kids (one over 2, the other just under 1), as all other kids that age, don't enjoy the historical things that we (adults) do. So by doing a little research we taught this museum would be a good place for them. And it sure was. It's located very close to the Philadelphia Zoo in a humble housing area. From the entrance to the building in which it is located (Memorial Hall), it is beautiful. There are around 21 different stations, attractions or rooms to interact and play with. They are designed for kids (2 thru 8). One of the attractions is a carousel for which you have to pay an extra $3.00 per kid. The cost per person is $17.00 ages 2 and up. You will spend from two to three hours playing around.

We took the trip down to the hotel only to find out,, from the lady at the counter, this is a great place for kids 8 and under. We have 3 kids 13, 11 and 8. So only my 8 yo would have had fun and the other 2 not so much. just be warned.

We have been to the Please Touch Museum twice with our toddler daughter and she loves it!
It is very clean and spacious. She loved the pretend supermarket. It is so cute to watch the little children "shopping" with their shopping carts down aisles of food. We also spent a lot of time in the pretend McDonald's area. She also loved going in the old fashioned monorail which used to be in the Wanamaker's Department Store's children's department for decades. The Please Touch Museum also has a nice cafe which has several healthy options. My daughter's favorite part of the museum is the carousel(an additional charge) which we rode several times. If you are in Philadelphia and have small children, add this to your list of things to do. It won't disappoint!

Very nicely done museum/play place for smaller kids (ages 1 up to about 8yrs). Spacious and lots of different themes. Our 18mos old had a great time and benefited more than at the typical children's museum. Lots of interesting, educational fun for older kids, too. Kids above 3rd grade or so may not find quite as much fun as smaller guys. Nice mix of physics/space, medicine, transportation, shopping, storybook, etc on our visit. Small cafe onsite with reasonable prices, plus they have vegetarian, gluten free and other dietary sensitive offerings. Very clean. Very nicely done. A little pricey, perhaps, at $17 a person but the place was packed the Saturday we visited, so probably a reasonable price on a free market level. They have special programs and had a puppet show the day we visited. You can easily spend an entire morning or afternoon here. We were there around 3hrs and probably rushed it a bit. Very good location. Close to the zoo and Smith Memorial Playground.

great for younger kids - my 3 and 5 year old loved it and my 7 year old liked it but I think in a year or so she will be a bit too old (but too young to get a kick out of the late 1970's star wars figures which I got a kick out of).

it started to get Very crowded by late morning which meant some wait to get behind the wheel of a bus/car and to "touch" all the other stuff. I suggest getting their early and by the time it starts getting crowded you will be finishing up. plus, if you get there when it opens you can park free on the street.
