The previous good reviews are correct - the hotel is in a great location, we walked everywhere from Liberty Hall to the Eastern State Penitentiary - the whole area felt really safe. The swimming pool is not huge but adequate to cool down, there could be a shortage of pool towels though. The studio room was a good size with queen bed, walk in closet with safe, full bathroom with toiletries, seperate hairdryer and kitchen. The Irish Bar on the ground floor is convenient for drinks and breakfast (although we would recommend 'Little Petes' 219 S 17th St - the food was good and cheap, great coffee too) - we did see someone famous in the bar, everyone (but us) seemed to recognise him.
There is free internet and printing on the ground floor so you can check-in on line for your
flights. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the rooms clean - and our room was quiet. The fitness centre is basic but adequate.

Having found a great route from Manchester, UK into the States we will definately be back at the Windsor Suites - Boston, New York and Washington are all close via the train.

This is a great place with a great location -- 10 minute walk to the Franklin Institute, 20-30 minutes to the Independence Hall historic area, with lots of other stuff in between.

From the first phone call to checkout, the service we received during our 4-night stay was cheerful, friendly, personable and extremely helpful. Every staff person we met (every one!) was eager to help and went above and beyond our expectations (which are pretty high) to answer our questions and respond to our needs. They made it a fun place to stay.

Our room was on the 6th floor, with a balcony (no extra charge) overlooking the Benjamin Franklin Parkway -- great views of the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, fountains and the parkway. Sitting on the balcony made for great people-watching in the mornings and evenings. The room was big, with a big walk-in closet and full kitchen (stove, dishwasher, fridge, microwave) that made it easy to walk to the nearby (10 minute walk) Whole Foods for breakfast and dinner food if we wanted to eat in. It was very quiet and comfortable and the beds were just fine. The swimming pool (on the roof top) and the laundry room were added pluses for our family.

This hotel is definitely not new, but is well maintained and feels very comfortable and homey. You can tell that they're making upgrades along the way and it's really a nice place. It's not as posh as some places, but for us, it was perfect. I'd trade posh for excellent service, convenient location and comfortable rooms any day.

It is funny how different experiences we can have....
We stayed three nights and were overall pleased. Room was huge and clean (7th floor), beds comfortable, service fine, and location great. The hotel is close to lots of restaurants and it is WALKING distance everywhere, including to the old town, Independence Hall, all the museums, the University district, and the Amtrak station. Having a rooftop pool was perfect in the heat, and we also worked out everyday in the gym. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this "suite" and had the worst hotel experience ever! Dirty rooms, furniture had what looked like blood stains, sleeper sofa should have been thrown away 25 years ago and had it's own plethora of stains and smells. Rude front desk could not care less why I checked out early. Valet is a joke, you get your own luggage dolly, load your luggage on it and then ask the front desk to bring it up to your room. Parking attendant hides in a small room watching tv. I would rather sleep in my car!

The Windsor Suites is the best value in Philly. It is right in the heart of the museum district, close to City Hall and just a short subway ride to the historic district. The hotel is an older one, but the rooms are immaculately kept and maintained, and the staff is by far the very best. The room we had was a queen suite with a small kitchen and a LARGE walk in closet. We parked our car in the garage and the valet staff was efficient and friendly. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Philly.

This is a clean hotel well situated near the Basilica, the Rodin Museum, Philadelphia Art Museum and Fairmount Park. It was near both public buses and the suburban trains. We liked our room with two double beds, a small kitchen, walk-in closet and modern bathroom.

We took advantage of a Welcome to Philadelphia package that gave us free parking at the hotel and a tiny but cute teddy bear wearing a Welcome to Philadelphia shirt. The package requires a two night stay. The parking is good until 6pm on the day you check out. Because of the extended time for the parking we got another day of being tourist and didn't have to drive or park anywhere else.

We didn't go to the Irish pub in the hotel since the music was loud and the crowd on the 20 something side ( young for us). We did use the roof top pool and although the water was cold, it was pleasant. I recommend this hotel and would recommend Philadelphia as a nice place to spend a weekend vacation.

We came to visit our daughter in Philadelphia and stayed two nights at the Windsor Suites Hotel. Our room was large with a kitchen, nice TV (limited channels) and the bathroom was newly renovated. The staff was excellent, always helpful and asking if there was anything they could do for us. We didn't know it until we arrived but the two days we were there, there was a Flyers Stanley cup game, a Phillys double header and a huge bike race, so the hotel was full. We did not have a balcony room like I had hoped, but because of everything that was going on, we were lucky to have a room at all. With everything this hotel has going for it, the greatest thing about it is the location! It is only 2-3 blocks from City Hall, which is the center of the city. Much of what you will want to do is walkable from the hotel and everything else is only a $5-$10 cab ride away. The roof-top pool seems rather small and claustrophobic, we did not have time to use it but the guests with kids seemed to enjoy it. There is a small pub and an Asian restaurant on the property with a Starbucks, TGI Fridays and several bars within one block and a WAWA food store around the corner. BTW, if you are coming to party hardy, don't bother. They make you sign a no party or loud noise after 9pm agreement, which is much applauded by all who want peace and quiet. Also there is absolutely no smoking in the rooms, in any area of the hotel or within 20 feet of it on the street. When we come back to visit longer we will certainly stay at the Windsor Suites.
