Pros: Clean large rooms, fast and friendly service, easy walking distance to the CBD and museums. Pleasant longer walks to historical areas. Pleasant quiet room on the 11th fl at back of hotel. We had no car, just walked and bussed.
Con: Slightly smokey smell in carpet in hallways from a long time past. But still, very liveable and great value. Breakfast included ! Would definitely stay again.

We love the Windsor. We stayed 12-29-09 to 12-31-09. We feel like we are family and were greeted with a "Welcome Back" gift consisting of a coffee mug filled with candy. The rooms are spacious and we would not weven consider staying anywhere else. Angela in reservations gave us the room we requested. As usual our expectations were met and more with the hotel. We stayed there July also and can't wait to come back in Feb.

I stayed here with my husband and sisters to explore Philadelphia. The weather was really bad while we were here so we spent more time in the hotel than we usually would. However, as the suites are so spacious there was plenty of room for us to hang out together in one room and the bar downstairs gave us a further outlet. The food was also really good in the bar downstairs. When we did go out, we walked to most of the attractions and shops that were nearby but we got a taxi to go down to Independence park. Both rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. They also gave us rooms next to each other. We got a great rate for the rooms even though it was close to Christmas. I agree with some of the other posts on here-you do have to wait a bit for the elevators and the parking is pretty pricey. However, for us the parking was worth it as we didn't have to drive around a strange city looking for parking in bad weather.

I have re-booked this hotel for our next trip to Philly as they had a great package with tickets to Bodyworlds and a free breakfast so my husband and i are looking forward to our next adventure.

Although a little dated you can not trade the excellant service and proce for some of the pricer hotels in center city. We actually stayed at the Ritz the two ngihts before and were charged for internet access which was free and easy at the Windsor.

PROS: The rooms are very large, and for the most part well insulated from neighbors. There is a large kitchen with a full sized refrigerator, a gas range and stove, a microwave, and a dishwasher. There are plates, bowls, pots, etc provided. Internet is wired with 30 MBPS speeds, and wireless with much slower but passable speed. The front desk is helpful and responsive. There are two laundry machine sets per floor. The gym is on the large size with 3 treadmills, some free weights, some weight machines, and tvs. The rooms have cable with about 18 channels, 2 movie channels, no pay per view. There are two tvs, one in each room. There is no DVD player. There is a door separating the bedroom from the living room. The bathroom is outside the bedroom. To use the elevator you had to use a card which added a level of security. We walked to the Franklin Institute and Chinatown and Walnut street shops at night without trouble and without feeling of danger.

CONS: I was told by the front desk that they replace bed sheets once a week. The sheets are very thin and placed directly on the mattress. The sheets were dirty in appearance when we moved in. I marked the sheets and checked and sure enough they were not replaced for the duration of our 6 nights. I think that this weekly change gives the cleaning crew a message, because generally the cleaning was very shoddy, with missed areas throughout. The carpets had a sticky residue. The bathrooms were pretty dirty when we moved in, and never got better. There was mold on the shower curtain.

We ran out of toilet paper and received one roll every time we asked. With 4 people in a room, this meant we had to ask often. Again with 4 people in the room, we received 2 towels at a time and had to request more continually. The delivery of extra towels and toilet paper was always prompt, but it got annoying to have to ask.

The parking garage is extremely cramped and expensive. I think 25 bucks a day is standard for the area though. You have to go down and wait for your car, i.e. no calling down for your car. Then you wait in a cramped little exhaust fume choked space. When you get your car the people are very aggressive about you moving along as there is no space. Other hotels in the area had drive up areas where you could easily load and unload.

The breakfast is no longer free. As of November 5, 2009, you get a discount voucher and have to go to the restaurant. As a comparison, next door at Embassy Suites is a great breakfast buffet that is free for hotel residents. We used it once as outside customers, and they charged 10 bucks an adult and kids were free. They had everything you could possibly want for breakfast including a made-to-order omlette stand.

The couch bed is about the worst I have ever used. Granted they tend to be pretty crappy mattresses but this was so bad you could feel coils digging in your back. I had to put the bedspread over the mattress to improve it to "uncomfortable". The couch cushions were badly stained with who knows what.

There are two restaurants in the hotel, a chinese and an irish pub. Neither was better than average, although the people working the pub were very friendly.

The bathroom, despite the huge room in general, is very small and cramped, with no hooks or bars to hang your clothes.

Overall, the place is adequate if you want a room near to most center city activities and if you intend to stay long term and cook your own food. I would recommend you get some sheets from the hotel and change them yourself every so often, and bring an inflatable mattress if you plan to use the couch bed. If you are looking for a short term place with a modicum of cleanliness, however, maybe try the embassy suites next door.
