“Warm welcome in the heart of Philly”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

Alexander Inn is an excellent hotel in the centre of Philadelphia. My sister and I stayed only one night here but we would have happily spent a lot longer at this hotel.

We arrived separately but my sister was able to check in prior to my arrival, even though I'd booked on my credit card. The guy at the reception was very friendly and made you feel right at home.

We were on one of the higher floors and it was really quiet and pleasant. The room itself is quite small but comfortable and cosy. Great value for money.

Coming from the UK, the breakfast was plentiful and constantly replenished. Plenty of pastries, fruit, waffles, english muffins, bread, yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs, bagels, scones and coffee. Breakfast here definitely set us up for the day. Having the coffee and pastries available all day is also a plus.

Overall, we really enjoyed our short stay here and I definitely would not hesitate to come back.

Room Tip: Ask for as high a floor as possible to ensure a good night's sleep.

The Alexander Inn is so ideal for a single traveler. The room was clean, and comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of choices. Best of all was the location. It's at the center for everything I wanted to see. The staff were friendly, and helpful. Whenever I come back to Philadelphia, The Alexander Inn will be my first choice.

Just back from a two night stay at this small (48 room) hotel. Hope to stay there again...this place was a find. Comfortable room, great staff, quiet and convenient. Breakfast served in a pleasant and sunny dining room. Minor 'flaw'...my boyfriend booked months ago, and asked for a corner room. Well.....it was a corner, but one side faced a brick wall. It would have been nicer to have a room on the 'other' corner. Despite that....I loved this place.

Room Tip: Ask a few more questions about where your room will be. Overall, the building is quiet, despite bei...

The moment we walked through the front door we knew we were into a winner! A lovely atmosphere.
The rooms are nice, bathrooms small but functional and the shower brilliant.
When we arrived we were given a list of recommended bars restaurants etc and after trying two of them we knew the advice was good.
This is a lovely boutique hotel, with great position, friendly staff and is great value for money.

I recently spent the July 4th weekend in Philly staying at Alexander Inn. We had a great stay where the rooms where clean and had a unique charm to them. The staff was great and helpful from the front desk clerks Byron & Johnny to Chris who sets up a continental breakfast that with healthy choices in a comfortable room. The Inn is located a 10 minute walk to Historic district or South st. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Parking garage is a 5 minute walk from hotel - with great location and public transportation we didn't need our automobile until we departed for home.

First of all the staff was always helpful and pleasant. The eveing staff namely Byron was helpful, informative with good humor. The breakfast person was polite, conscientous, and thorough. We were entirely pleased with the staff in every way. We also enjoyed the rooms and hotel proper which was clean, and artsy ina low key manner with interesting art work and colors. The maid who cleaned our room was terrific and we tipped her accordingly. The price was alos right for the location iaccesible by walking to the nearby historical and cultural deligths of Philadelphia. The only critique we have is the weird policy of allowing a AAA discount only on Thursday buit not on Friday or Saturday. The way we view that is it is a chintzy way to save a few dollars. Why not be a 4 star hotel instead of a 3.5 and provide the discount with no excepitons. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to Philadelphia.

This is a great place to stay when you visit Philadelphia...The staff is always willing to help in any way they can and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The location is close to the Liberty Bell and other historic sites. There is a great continental breakfast to start the day.
